are likely<\/a> to remain below zero during this period.<\/p>\n There will be periodic chances for light snow, mainly Saturday<\/p>\n afternoon and night and again Monday afternoon and Monday night.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n On Thursday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSI Cable 2, Searle said, at the January 16, Grant\/Executive Board meeting, the board will consider a grant request for funding to continue the stage coach and horse rides at the Village.\u00a0 Karen George owns and cares for the horses and the stage coach, as the Jamestown City Council recently approved a bill of sale.<\/p>\n He also pointed out that developer, Brian Lunde is expected in town this month, with officials of Apogee a national firm that is looking into plans \u00a0to infuse dollars in the redevelopment of Frontier Village.<\/p>\n Mayor Dwaine Heinrich recently said that no city dollars will be used, as the developer will work with other entities in the community, such as Jamestown Tourism and city officials. The Mayor added that this proposal will parallel others in the Jamestown community that come forward and step up to assist.<\/p>\n Searle Swedlund added, that community members are welcome to contact him with ideas for improvements to the Village, saying that contractors, carpenters and others will similar experiences are welcome to step forward to volunteer their time, or propose other \u00a0support in the refurbishing of the buildings.<\/p>\n He has said in the past that Frontier Village need to be a unique visitor experience.<\/p>\n Also on our show, Searle said in 2020 Tourism will continue to work with agencies to help grow tourism in Jamestown.<\/p>\n He noted the 1883 Stutsman County Courthouse this summer plans to open the Historical Citizenship Exhibit, which has been financially supported by Jamestown Tourism, along with plans at Ft. Caring and confidential counseling sessions are available to farmers, ranchers and members of their households.<\/p>\n Jamestown Regional Medical Center collaborated with The Village Business Institute to offer web-based counseling at no cost to the agricultural community. The program is called Agricultural Workforce Assistance (AWA) and includes up to three free sessions of counseling support.<\/p>\n JRMC, Chief Operating Officer, Ricki Ramlo says,\u201cOur teams in our Emergency Department see people present with a trauma or injury, however, in the conversation, we learn that these individuals also need care for their mental health. The AWA gives our teams and others a resource so farmers and ranchers get the care their need.\u201d<\/p>\n Christina Rittenbach, Stutsman County Extension agent\u00a0 says,farming\/ranching is one of the more stressful occupations, adding to that stress is the severe flooding and crop losses of this harvest season.<\/p>\n She says, \u201cRecent stressors of difficult economic conditions and poor weather conditions have taken their toll, and there has been an increase in suicide rates amongst the farming and ranching population. When stressors become too much to bear, speaking with a mental health professional can make all the difference.”<\/p>\n The Village AWA program makes it easy for farmers and ranchers to seek the help they need and speak with trained professionals that will help them work through their challenges, she said.<\/p>\n The AWA offers web-based services so farmers, ranchers and their families do not have to travel. If technology is a barrier, The Village will make accommodations, Ramlo said.<\/p>\n The three free counseling services through AWA are available to farm families in JRMC\u2019s nine-county region: Stutsman, Foster, LaMoure, Logan, Barnes, Eddy, Griggs, Kidder and Wells. Officers responded to a residence in Bismarck after getting a call from a neighbor about 10 p.m. Thursday. The neighbor said the man stated that he had a bomb. Earlier, another caller told dispatchers the man stated he had weapons and would use them if anyone tried to enter his home. West Dakota SWAT officers tried unsuccessfully to get the man to surrender and the man began shooting from a second-floor window.
