City Attorney Martineck said 10 feet of each lot will now be dedicated for a permanent flood control wall.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\">Approved were Resolutions for 2020 Valley City Public Works utility rate increase. Public Works Accountant Jacobson.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\">Resolutions included:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\">Establishing Electric Utility Rates an increase of three percent.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\">Establishing Water Utility Rates an increase of nine percent.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\">Establishing Sewer Utility Rates an increase of four percent.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Public Works Department Manger, Gary Anderson said the last increase was in 2016.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\">Approved were Resolutions for Paving Improvement District No. 120. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>Approved was a Resolution Creating Paving Improvement District No. 120 (NDDOT Project# UGP-2-999(051), PCN 22280), a mill and overlay project on Central Avenue S<\/p>\n<p>Approved was a Resolution Approving Engineers Report &amp; Directing Preparation of Detailed Plans, Specifications &amp; Estimates of Probable Cost for Paving Improvement District No. 120<\/p>\n<p>Approve Resolutions for Paving Improvement District No. 121.<\/p>\n<p>A Resolution Creating Paving Improvement District No. 121 (2020 Seal Coat)<\/p>\n<p>A Resolution Resolution Approving Engineers Report &amp; Directing Preparation of Detailed Plans, Specifications &amp; Estimates of Probable Cost for Paving Improvement District No. 121 (2020 Seal Coat)<\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><b><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt;\">N<\/span><\/b><b><span style=\"font-size: 9.5pt;\">EW <\/span><\/b><b><span style=\"font-size: 11.5pt;\">B<\/span><\/b><b><span style=\"font-size: 9.5pt;\">USINESS <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\">Approved was a Construction Engineering Contract for 5<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 7.0pt;\">th <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\">Avenue NW Reconstruction Project in an amount not to exceed $339,500.00 (Paving Improvement District No. 118; Sanitary Sewer Improvement District No. 65; Storm Sewer Improvement District No. 53; Watermain Improvement District No. 101.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\">The project is estimated to start in May this year, or sooner if weather permits. The public will be informed what areas will be worked at, and when. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\">City Commissioners approved the purchase of EZ-Screen 1200XLS in the amount of $45,898.79 for the screening of compost. Public Works Accountant Jacobson<i> <\/i>recommends approval.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"Default\"><span style=\"font-size: 11.0pt;\">The City Commission approved a Gaming Site Authorization for North Dakota Winter Show at the North Dakota Winter Show Event Center. City Auditor Richter<i> <\/i>said the authorization was standard allowing raffles to be conducted.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>It was explained where snow from the city was being hauled out of town,\u00a0 answer to a question from the audience.<\/p>\n<p>Approved was the 2020 Employee Policy &amp; Procedure Manual. City Attorney Martineck explained the changes, including sick leave policy, and strengthening \u00a0background checks, and conducting random drug testing.<\/p>\n<p><strong>C<\/strong><strong>ITY <\/strong><strong>U<\/strong><strong>PDATES <\/strong><strong>&amp;C<\/strong><strong>OMMISSION <\/strong><strong>R<\/strong><strong>EPORTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>City Attorney Martineck said a transition team will be formed in seeking a successor for City Administrator, David Schelkoph.\u00a0 He said a job posting for the position will be made.
