{"id":191012,"date":"2020-02-05T19:00:28","date_gmt":"2020-02-06T01:00:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=191012"},"modified":"2020-02-06T09:21:42","modified_gmt":"2020-02-06T15:21:42","slug":"jamestown-students-in-lifesmarts-state-finals-wed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=191012","title":{"rendered":"Jamestown LifeSmarts Team, No. 1,State Finals Wed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-15717 size-thumbnail\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Stenhjemwayne-150x150.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Update&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Bismarck\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 On Wednesday in Bismarck, at the State LifeSmarts competition \u00a0Jamestown High School\u2019s Team Number One, won the championship.<\/p>\n<p>The Jamestown students will represents North Dakota in the national competition in Washington DC in April.<\/p>\n<p>In second place was the Bottineau Braves and the Burke Central Team was third.<\/p>\n<p>Their were \u00a0fourteen teams that competed in the eleven rounds of questions before the top three teams advanced to the final round..<\/p>\n<p>The state LifeSmarts Jamestown Champion team members are Jarron Larson, Jessie Paulson, Chris Sayler, Garret Wright and Winter Mielke.<\/p>\n<p>The Jamestown team is coached by Marchel Krieger.<\/p>\n<p>Previously&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Bismarck\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0\u00a0 ND Attorney General, Wayne Stenhjem reports that the state finals of the LifeSmarts competition will be held Wednesday in Bismarck.<\/p>\n<p>The competition will be begin at 9-am February 5th in the Pioneer Room at the state Capitol. Fourteen teams of students from ten North Dakota High Schools will compete for a chance to go to the National Finals competition being held in Washington DC in April.<\/p>\n<p>The high school teams are from <strong>Jamestown,<\/strong> Flasher, TGU Granville, Burke Central, Tioga, TGU Towner, Bottineau, Fessenden-Bowdon, and Litchville-Marion, and new this year: Bowbells.<\/p>\n<p>The LifeSmarts competition tests students on their general knowledge in five subjects: personal finance, health and safety, the environment, technology, and consumer rights and responsibilities. Each team is guaranteed to compete in at least two rounds, with the three highest scoring teams advancing to the final round.<\/p>\n<p>The LifeSmarts state final competition event, now in its 22nd year, is supported by many North Dakota groups, including the ND Securities Department, Capital Electric Cooperative Inc., Capital Trophy, Cash Wise Foods, Dan\u2019s Supermarket, ND JumpStart!, and ND Association of Rural Electric Cooperatives.<\/p>\n<p>Stenehjem encourages members of the public to attend the event in support of the students<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Update&#8230; Bismarck\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 On Wednesday in Bismarck, at the State LifeSmarts competition \u00a0Jamestown High School\u2019s Team Number One, won the championship.
