front<\/a> is forecast to cross the international border around<\/p>\n
midnight Wednesday and continue south during the morning hours.<\/p>\n
The main concern associated with this frontal passage will be the<\/p>\n
potential for significantly reduced visibility<\/a> – especially in<\/p>\n
open country – due to a combination of blowing snow<\/a> and concurrent<\/p>\n
falling snow along and just behind the front<\/a>.<\/p>\n
Difficult travel conditions will likely<\/a> impact the Wednesday morning commute across eastern ND and the Red River Valley.<\/p>\n
Temperatures early Thursday in the 20-30 below zero range with afternoon highs possibly staying below zero with -20 in the coldest locations.<\/p>\n

(AP)\u00a0 North Dakota’s insurance commissioner has ordered an air ambulance network to stop selling subscriptions to North Dakotans. Insurance Commissioner Jon Godfread issued a cease and desist order Monday against AirMedCare Network. Godfread alleges the network of affiliated air ambulance providers is selling air ambulance subscriptions to North Dakotans in violation of a 2017 state law. The commissioner says North Dakota banned the sale of these subscription plans because they’ve been shown to be predatory. But AirMedCare contends it stopped selling the memberships in North Dakota in 2017 when the law went into effect but that its memberships are advertised on Facebook and online.<\/p>\n
(AP)\u00a0 The North Dakota Pardon Advisory Board is seeking more applicants under its new policy wiping criminal records clean for people with low-level marijuana convictions. Republican Gov. Doug Burgum pardoned 16 qualified offenders in January under the marijuana policy adopted last year. The Bismarck Tribune reports that 37-year-old Craig Bjorland says he was thrilled to receive his pardon by mail months after applying for it. North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem estimates that as many as 175,000 cases could be eligible under the policy. The board will reconvene April 14 to consider the second round of applications.<\/p>\n
(AP) A group seeking to amend North Dakota’s Constitution to legalize recreational marijuana is now aiming for the November ballot. Petitions with enough qualified signatures would have been due Monday at the secretary of state’s office for the measure to be part of the June statewide primary. But an organizer tells The Bismarck Tribune the ND for Freedom of Cannabis Act group is still collecting signatures and is now aiming for the Nov. 3 general election. She says the group initially was aiming for the June primary to “avoid any confusion\u201d with a similar measure to legalize marijuana potentially being on the same ballot.<\/p>\n
(AP)\u00a0 Mandan police have released the name of a 36-year-old man who died after fighting officers following a traffic stop over the weekend. The man is identified as John Michael Prudente Jr. of Mandan. An autopsy was being conducted Monday morning. Police say Prudente drove away as two officers were talking to him after a traffic stop in Mandan on Saturday evening. After he pulled into a driveway, police say Prudente began fighting with the officers and was handcuffed. Police say he became limp and unresponsive, and died at a hospital. The North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation continues to investigate.<\/p>\n

The Bears received 48 of 64 first-place votes from a media panel to stay at No. 1 for the fourth straight week. No. 2 Gonzaga had 15 first-place votes and No. 3 Kansas one. San Diego State and Louisville rounded out the top five. Seton Hall was the only change among the top 10 after moving up two spots to No. 10. Preseason No. 1 Michigan State dropped out of the rankings from No. 16 following a three-game losing streak.<\/p>\n

FORREST CITY, Ark. (AP) \u2014 Officials say a gunman is dead and two police officers are injured following a shooting at a Walmart in eastern Arkansas. The shooting took place Monday morning in Forrest City, about 45 miles west of Memphis, Tennessee. Forrest City Police Chief Deon Lee says one of the officers was taken to a hospital in Memphis where he was in surgery but that the initial prognosis is \u201che’s going to be OK.\u201d Forrest City Mayor Cedric Williams says no one else was hurt due to the officers’ heroism.<\/p>\n
WASHINGTON (AP) \u2014 The Justice Department says four members of the Chinese military have been charged with breaking into the computer networks of the Equifax credit reporting agency and stealing the personal information of tens of millions of Americans. Law enforcement officials say the four are also accused of stealing the company’s trade secrets. The defendants are all members of the People’s Liberation Army, an arm of the Chinese military. The case comes as the Trump administration has warned against what it sees as the growing political and economic influence of China, and efforts by Beijing to collect data on Americans and steal scientific research and innovation.<\/p>\n
CONCORD, N.H. (AP) \u2014 Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders says a victory in the New Hampshire primary would put him on a path to capture the Democratic presidential nomination. Sanders told a crowd Monday that he believes he has a strong chance of victory here as well as in the states that come next: Nevada, South Carolina and California. Sanders says, \u201cNot only is the whole country looking at New Hampshire tomorrow, but the world is looking at New Hampshire.” Sanders says he\u2019s hoping for the largest voter turnout in the history of the primary. Other candidates are downplaying the importance of the New Hampshire primary.<\/p>\n

WASHINGTON (AP) \u2014 Bernie Sanders’ and Pete Buttigieg’s presidential campaigns have filed requests for a partial recanvass of the results of Iowa’s Democratic caucuses. In its Monday filing, the Sanders campaign cited “mathematical errors and inconsistencies” in more than two dozen caucus locations that it says would change the results if amended. The Iowa Democratic Party says the Buttigieg campaign requested a check on results in 66 precincts. Current results show Buttigieg with a razor-thin lead over Sanders in state delegate equivalents, and the party has awarded Buttigieg 14 delegates to Sanders’ 12. But the Sanders campaign believes correcting faulty math could swing the delegate allocation in Sanders’ favor.<\/p>\n

MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) \u2014 Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and his top backers are downplaying expectations on the eve of New Hampshire\u2019s first-in-the-nation primary. Biden said Monday more racially diverse states that come after New Hampshire are the key to the nomination. Biden’s rivals for the nomination are looking to the Granite State for a springboard. Bernie Sanders and Pete Buttigieg are looking to build on their success in the Iowa caucuses. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump wants to cast a shadow over all Democrats as he heads to New Hampshire for a Monday evening rally. New Hampshire is among a handful of states Trump believes he can flip in November after losing them in 2016.<\/p>\n

WASHINGTON (AP) \u2014 President Donald Trump is calling for slashing funding for the country’s Superfund hazardous waste clean-ups. That’s even as the Trump administration builds up the biggest backlog in years in unfunded toxic-waste site cleanups around the country. Trump’s budget proposal Monday calls for $113 million less funding for the popular, four-decade old Superfund program. That’s part of a 26% cut for the environmental agency. Trump says the Superfund cuts challenge the agency to use funding more efficiently.<\/p>\n

WASHINGTON (AP) \u2014 Attorney General William Barr says the Justice Department is collecting information that Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani is gathering in Ukraine about the president\u2019s Democratic rival Joe Biden and his son. But Barr cautioned Monday that federal officials have \u201cto be very careful\u201d with information coming from Ukraine. The prospect that Giuliani is providing potentially damaging information about one of the president\u2019s political rivals to the Justice Department while he is under federal investigation is likely to deepen criticism from Democrats that Barr acts more like the president\u2019s personal lawyer than the attorney general.<\/p>\n
