Stay home if sick, even with mild symptoms.\u00a0 Wash hands frequently with soap and water, especially if you have been in public places.\u00a0\u00a0 Sanitize frequently.<\/p>\n<p>He issued no new Executive Orders on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>He said he has low confidence in estimated model estimates that shows North Dakota could see an increase in new positive cases within three weeks of between 600 and 1300.\u00a0 He stressed those numbers could be way off.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>ND National Guard Maj. Gen. Alan Dohrmann, head of the Department of Emergency Services,<\/p>\n<p>The Guard is planning for the future in a worse case scenario of positive cases.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the 55 hospitals in the state have planned for expansion of bed spaces, with a total of bed space available in a surge of \u00a0patients.\u00a0 Jamestown Mayor Dwaine Heinrich reported at the Saturday mayors conference call with the state that JRMC has the ability to expand to 64 beds for critical care.<\/p>\n<p>Retired health workers are asked to be on standby to assist, with a pool of people available to be established.<\/p>\n<p>That includes setting up additional hospitals in the state in existing spaces.<\/p>\n<p>With ventilators the current total state count is now 408, with the state looking for more.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0State Health Dept. Updates<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span class=\"normaltextrun\">State Health Officer\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"spellingerror\">Mylynn<\/span><span class=\"normaltextrun\">\u00a0Tufte Saturday\u00a0signed a\u00a0<\/span><a title=\"This external link will open in a new window\" href=\"https:\/\/www.health.nd.gov\/sites\/www\/files\/documents\/Files\/MSS\/coronavirus\/HCW\/SHO-Order.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">confinement\u00a0order<\/span><\/a><span class=\"normaltextrun\">\u00a0directing individuals\u00a0to quarantine for 14 days if\u00a0traveling back to North Dakota from all international locations and states in the U.S. classified as having\u00a0widespread disease by the Centers for Disease\u00a0Control and Prevention.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span class=\"normaltextrun\">\u201cGiven the global pandemic we\u2019re in,\u00a0it\u2019s crucial to minimize the exposure\u00a0of\u00a0individuals who have traveled\u00a0from places with widespread disease,\u201d\u00a0Tufte\u00a0said. \u201cReach out to neighbors\u00a0by phone or video and offer to drop\u00a0groceries off on their front porch. We\u2019re in this together.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>State Health Officer Mylynn Tufte outlined symptoms of COVID-19, which should be tested for a positive result.\u00a0 The State Health Department has more specific information, which will assist with contact tracing stemming from those positive being in connect with other individuals.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\"><strong><span class=\"normaltextrun\">Workforce sectors that are\u00a0exempt\u00a0from the order include: health care and public health; law enforcement, public safety and other first responders; food and\u00a0agriculture; energy; water and wastewater; transportation and\u00a0logistics; public works and infrastructure support services;\u00a0communications and information technology; other community or government-based operations and essential functions; critical manufacturing; hazardous materials; financial services; chemical; defense industrial base; commercial facilities; residential\/shelter facilities and services; hygiene products and services. These individuals should\u00a0limit interactions with others as much as possible\u00a0and monitor for symptoms for 14 days.<\/span><span class=\"eop\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\"><strong><span class=\"normaltextrun\">Affected individuals are encouraged to fill out the\u00a0<\/span><a title=\"This external link will open in a new window\" href=\"https:\/\/ndhealth.co1.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_eb7sJjKhR2UfB7n\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">travel\u00a0survey<\/span><\/a><span class=\"normaltextrun\">\u00a0found on the\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"spellingerror\">NDDoH<\/span><\/strong><span class=\"normaltextrun\"><strong>\u00a0website to receive information on how to monitor for symptoms.<\/strong><br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\"><b>EMERGENCY LICENSURE<\/b><\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">As directed by\u00a0Gov. Doug Burgum through\u00a0executive order\u00a0<\/span><a title=\"This external link will open in a new window\" href=\"https:\/\/www.governor.nd.gov\/sites\/www\/files\/documents\/executive-orders\/Executive%20Order%202020-05.01.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">2020-05.1<\/span><\/a><span class=\"normaltextrun\">\u00a0and as part of the response to the COVID-19 pandemic,\u00a0licensing requirements have been suspended for health care and behavioral health professionals currently licensed and in good standing in other states.\u00a0This\u00a0allows\u00a0North Dakota to recognize out-of-state licensures\u00a0to increase capacity of health care workers.<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">Interested health care and behavioral health professionals must complete an online application which includes proof of identity, proof of licensure and\u00a0a letter of\u00a0good standing in another state.\u00a0There is no cost to obtain a temporary emergency license. This will aid the\u00a0NDDoH\u00a0in better understanding what symptoms individuals present at onset of illness and will help the department increase contact tracing\u00a0efforts.\u00a0A close contact is defined as someone you\u2019ve been within\u00a06\u00a0feet of for\u00a0more than 15\u00a0minutes\u00a0of time.\u00a0Only individuals who\u00a0later\u00a0test positive will receive a\u00a0follow-up\u00a0call\u00a0from the\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"spellingerror\">NDDoH<\/span><span class=\"normaltextrun\">.<br \/>\n<\/span><span class=\"eop\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph\"><span class=\"normaltextrun\">Symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, cough and shortness of breath. The symptoms may appear in as few as two days or\u00a0as long as\u202f14 days after exposure.
