There is a\u00a0 chance of a thunderstorm<\/a> on Tuesday \u00a0in the south central and James River Valley.<\/p>\n There could be some modest rain showers Tuesday afternoon\/night along with gusty winds, with a transition to snow likely<\/a> overnight and into early Wednesday morning, although little to no accumulations are expected.<\/p>\n Wednesday through the rest of the week, \u00a0not much of a break in precipitation.<\/p>\n River Watch\u2026.<\/p>\n The recent mild weather has resulted in snowmelt runoff and river<\/p>\n rises along the James River and Pipestem Creek watersheds. The<\/p>\n mild conditions are expected to continue through Tuesday, followed<\/p>\n by cooler temperatures and chances for a rain and snow mix<\/p>\n Wednesday and Thursday.<\/p>\n Current projections have the James River cresting at LaMoure below<\/p>\n minor flood stage, Tuesday into Wednesday of this week. This will<\/p>\n be followed by falling river levels into the weekend. Pipestem<\/p>\n Creek at Pingree should crest below minor flood stage on Tuesday<\/p>\n of this week as well.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The additional rainfall is not expected to significantly change<\/p>\n this scenario, although it may end up slowing the rivers fall<\/p>\n after the crest.<\/p>\n Those with river concerns should continue to monitor the latest<\/p>\n stages and forecasts.<\/p>\n He opened the briefing with updates on North Dakota COVID-19 information.<\/p>\n COVID-19 P.M. COVID-19 is a highly contagious, viral disease for which the only known method of prevention is to avoid being exposed to the virus by reducing contact with other individuals.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Godfread said,\u201cOver the past 20 days, the Insurance Department has been working to provide clarity and consistency to consumers, agents and companies with how North Dakota is addressing this public health crisis. Issuing such a large number of bulletins and interfering with the way North Dakota insurance producers and companies conduct business isn\u2019t a responsibility that I take lightly, however, there were issues that needed to be addressed quickly during this critical time. Now more than ever, we need to follow the instructions provided by the CDC to not only protect ourselves, family and friends, but also the medical professionals in our state providing critical services throughout all of our communities. CDL services are available by appointment only and walk-ins will not be accepted at this time.\u00a0 Appointments can be scheduled by calling NDDOT at 701-328-3489 or toll free 1-855-633-6835. Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.<\/p>\n The CDL appointments began Monday and are only available to CDL drivers and temporary agricultural workers (H-2A). (AP) \u2014 Several groups have urged North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum to block evictions and foreclosures to protect those suffering economic hardship caused by COVID-19. The request Monday from groups that include the North Dakota Farmers Union and the American Civil Liberties Union comes as the state reported its second and third deaths from complications of the coronavirus and the number of cases surpassed 100. The newest victims were a woman in her 80s from McHenry County and a man in his 70s from Morton County. Both had underlying health conditions.<\/p>\n Update…<\/p>\n According to the report, a female child was struck by a pickup. \u00a0Upon arrival, officers found a 16 year old female pinned under a vehicle. Officers tried to provide emergency aid, but the female was not breathing and did not have a pulse.<\/p>\n The Jamestown Fire Department was also immediately called to the scene to lift the vehicle off the female. The 16 year-old pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.<\/p>\n The vehicle involved in this incident was a 1999 GMC pickup, which was being operated by a 16 year-old female.<\/p>\n The Jamestown Police Department was assisted by Jamestown Area Ambulance, Jamestown Fire Department, Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Office, North Dakota Highway Patrol, and Stutsman County Coroner.
