Showers and a few thunderstorms are possible over western and<\/p>\n

central North Dakota this afternoon and evening. A cold front will<\/p>\n

push into central North Dakota late tonight bringing the<\/p>\n

potential for light snow into the west. On Wednesday the snow will<\/p>\n

spread slowly east but will mainly affect western into north<\/p>\n

central North Dakota.<\/p>\n

Another round of snow will spread across most of the state<\/p>\n

Wednesday night through Thursday night. Much uncertainty remains<\/p>\n

with the temperatures and the location of snow, but at this time<\/p>\n

it appears much of the James River Valley has a high risk of at<\/p>\n

least 4 inches of snow during this second round. Gusty northerly<\/p>\n

winds will also produce patchy blowing and drifting snow mainly<\/p>\n

over the south on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Impacts to travel may occur. Continue to check back for the latest<\/p>\n

forecasts.<\/p>\n

Saturday into Tuesday will see milder temperatures.<\/p>\n

so any snow later this week will melt rather quickly.<\/p>\n

Impacts from rain and snow could be significant, from travel to<\/p>\n

flooding.<\/p>\n

River Watch\u2026<\/p>\n

Precipitation amounts from a quarter of an inch to as much as an inch are possible Wednesday night into Thursday. Since some of this will fall as snow, rapid runoff of the precipitation is not likely.<\/p>\n

The Pipestem and James rivers are still expected to crest below<\/p>\n

minor flood stage Tuesday into Wednesday of this week. This will<\/p>\n

be followed by falling river levels into the weekend. The added<\/p>\n

precipitation could slow this fall, or even prolong the crest.<\/p>\n

The worst case scenario would be all of the precipitation falling<\/p>\n

as rain in a short period of time, which could push river levels<\/p>\n

close to minor flood stage at LaMoure. However, this is not<\/p>\n

considered likely at this time.<\/p>\n

Those with river concerns should continue to monitor the latest<\/p>\n

stages and forecasts.<\/p>\n

\"\"Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 Another\u00a0 local\u00a0 response COVID-19 briefing for Jamestown and Stutsman County was held Tuesday afternoon Mar 31, 2020.<\/p>\n

Speakers included from:\u00a0 Central Valley Health District, The Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy, Jamestown Regional Medical Center. The Jamestown Ministerial Association, the Jamestown Salvation Army, and The City of Jamestown.<\/p>\n

Central Valley Health District Administrator \u00a0Robin Iszler said, even though at this time (on Tuesday) no one has been tested positive, yet, for COVID- 19, the coronavirus is likely in the Jamestown community, but has not yet been found.<\/strong><\/p>\n

She also related the governor\u2019s travel quarantine executive order: \u201cAll individuals traveling back to North Dakota from international locations and states in the U.S. that have been classified as having widespread disease by the CDC. must quarantine immediately upon reentry to the state of North Dakota and for a period of 14 days.\u201d<\/p>\n

If anyone would like to make homemade masks, to contact CVHD, for a pattern, at 701-252-8130.\u00a0 One agency in Jamestown had indicated the need for masks.<\/p>\n

She said May to early June is the likely time frame the pandemic and emergency measures \u00a0will be needed and precautions should be taken.<\/p>\n

JRMC CEO Mike Delfs said that 35 tests were performed at the hospital and none positive.<\/p>\n

He said the hospital has six ventilators, with three dedicated to hospital surgeries if need.<\/p>\n

He said supplies are in good shape, and monitored \u00a0daily.<\/p>\n

Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy, pharmacist Matt Perkins said, the lobby is open, with limited access, with prescriptions available at the drive through, curbside pick up, or mail.\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0Credit or Debit cards may also be used. They plan to stay open through the pandemic.<\/p>\n

The Medicine Shoppe is NOT testing for COVID-19.<\/p>\n

Jamestown Salvation Army Major Judy Lowder said, it still open with the regular services, with limited access to the lobby, and one person per family at a time, and no children.<\/p>\n

Donations are welcome of cleaning supplies, and other items regularly kept in supply.<\/p>\n

On behalf of The City of Jamestown, Mayor Dwaine Heinrich thanked the organizers of these news briefings in getting the word out from organizations and unities, with important information.<\/p>\n

He reminds residents to social distance, and discourages people from congregating in stores and leave children at home.\u00a0 Also not to congregate in city parks.<\/p>\n

He said information on the\u00a0Forgivable loan program for small business is on the U.S. Chamber of Commerce web site.<\/p>\n

On another topic, he said the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has informed him that the expected combined releases from the Jamestown and Pipestem Dams this spring will be 750-cfs, well below a flood threat.\u00a0 He said last fall the combined release was 1200 cfs that required sandbagging in some areas of the city.<\/p>\n

Representing the Jamestown Ministerial Association, Pastor Eric Weber from St. John\u2019s Lutheran Church said, virtual church services and radio and T.V. Services are substituting for in church services.\u00a0 He said churches are in touch with their congregation through\u00a0 E-Mails as well.\u00a0 He says plans are developed for funeral services regarding social distancing.<\/p>\n

He began with updates on the latest COVID-19 \u00a0case numbers from the State Health Department, as of 3-p.m., Tuesday.<\/p>\n

He said 17 new positives were recorded since Monday, bringing the total to 126 positive results at 3-p.m., Tuesday. \u00a0384 tests were given since Monday. \u00a0He said not everybody that has COVID-19 has yet been found, with the data lagging with results.<\/p>\n

He stressed the basics of washing hands, and social distancing,\u00a0 and stay home if you are sick.<\/p>\n
