Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 The JFD Rescue Squad was called out about 9:30 am Thurs to a location 10 miles south of Cleveland where a vehicle was in the water.\u00a0 The caller said an individual was still inside the vehicle with water up to his chest.<\/p>\n
The rescue squad was called back en-route.<\/p>\n
Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Deputy Casey Yunck said Medina Ambulance and Rescue arrived on the scene along with the Cleveland Fire Department.\u00a0 First on the scene was a Medina first responder in a private vehicle.\u00a0 The occupant of the car, a 78 year old Gackle man was taken out of the vehicle and put in a Sheriff\u2019s squad car, when it arrived, and brought to the I-94 exit where he was taken to JRMC and treated for exposure.<\/p>\n
Yunck said the man drove off the roadway and into a ditch where the vehicle was angled with the front end downward into the water.\u00a0 He said the water never got above the man\u2019s chest.<\/p>\n
North Dakota Highway Patrol trooper Captain Bryan Niewind said roads werre slick across the region on Thursday, pointing out several crashes and assists\u00a0 just between Jamestown and Fargo.<\/p>\n
He said, Troopers\u00a0 responded Thursdsy to six crashes and five other highway assists on I-94 in Stutsman, Barnes, and Cass Counties.<\/p>\n
