City Attorney Martineck said <\/i>the application was approved by the city planning commission, also approved by Martineck.<\/span><\/p>\n The City Commission approved Approving Replat of Lot 5, South Valley Addition.\u00a0 City Attorney Martineck sais a variance was approved in the vote to approve.<\/p>\n N<\/strong>EW <\/strong>B<\/strong>USINESS <\/strong><\/p>\n Approved a proposed Ordinance Creating Title 20-04.01 to Extend City Sales, Use & Gross Receipts Tax dedicated to Permanent Flood Protection. City Attorney Martineck said the city previously approved by resolution.\u00a0 The first reading will not come until the June 9 city election when the question is on the ballot.<\/p>\n Approve July 1, 2020 \u2013 June 30, 2021 Annual Gaming Site Authorization for the following. City Auditor <\/i>Richter<\/span><\/p>\n a. Valley City Baseball Association at The Clubhouse Lounge <\/span><\/p>\n b. Valley City Hockey and Figure Skating Club at Youth Sports Complex <\/span><\/p>\n Considered was a Police Officer COVID-19 hazard pay.\u00a0 Police Chief Hatcher summarized a statement noting compiled stats.\u00a0 He provided additional pay to field officers, $4,500 in total pay, for March, April and May of 2020. He said compared to last year in the same time period, the call to domestic violence calls was up by seven percent.\u00a0 He said DUI call were also up for the same period up by 10 percent, also included in the domestic violence category.\u00a0\u00a0 He said those types of calls pose a serious hazard to officers responding. Commissioners approved the request of hazard pay from the current police department budget.\u00a0 Commissioner Erickson voted against the motion.<\/p>\n Considered were options for street light fixtures on 5<\/span>th <\/span>Avenue NW.\u00a0 <\/span>Commissioners voted to approve the purchase of aluminum, lantern type street lights over the acorn style.<\/span><\/p>\n Approved was an \u00a0Engineering Agreement with KLJ for Paving Improvement District No. 121 \u2013 2020 Seal Coat.\u00a0 Commissioner Erickson voted against the motion.<\/p>\n Approved was a Construction Engineering Agreement with KLJ for Water Main Improvement District No. 101 \u2013 5<\/span>th <\/span>Ave NW. <\/span><\/p>\n Approved projects for 2021 North Dakota Water Development Plan.\u00a0 The approval goes to the State Water Commission for approval, pending dollars available.<\/p>\n Approved was the \u00a0purchase agreement concerning Auditor\u2019s Lot 1 in the SW quarter section 17, Township 140, Range 58, between George Gaukler and Bridgetown Development LLP.\u00a0 City Attorney Martineck, said the agreement is between the developer and the owner of a strip of land.<\/p>\n Commissioner Powell recused himself due to a conflict of interest.<\/p>\n Discussed was an Ordinance creating a Mobile Vendor License.\u00a0 City Attorney Martineck, suggested the items going to the zoning and planning commission for review with recommendations to the City Commission.<\/p>\n Commissioner Magnuson suggested a fee be charged, for each ten day span under a permit.<\/p>\n A copy of the state sales tax to be included in paperwork, along with a city sales tax.<\/p>\n The Ordinance will come back to the Commission in the form of a first reading.<\/p>\n C<\/strong>ITY <\/strong>U<\/strong>PDATES <\/strong>&C<\/strong>OMMISSION <\/strong>R<\/strong>EPORT:<\/strong><\/p>\n Fire Chief Scott Magnuson reminded residents to be vigilant on being careful with fires, base on the very dry conditions.<\/p>\n He said the fire department assisted with 120 celebrations around town, for such things as parades.<\/p>\n Mayor Carlsrud said public works has been working with the fire department on repairing broken street surfaces.<\/p>\n The meeting was shown live on CSi Cable 68, followed by replays.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Valley City\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 The Valley City Commission met in Regular Session on Tuesday evening at City Hall.
