\"\"Fargo, ND (Valley News Live<\/a>)–<\/strong><\/span> Deputy Chief Todd Osmundson has now resigned from the Fargo Police Department.<\/p>\n

Police Chief Dave Todd had originally suspended Deputy Chief Osmundson for one week of unpaid leave, effective immediately.<\/p>\n

Osmundson was reportedly seen in the crowd of protesters undercover on May 30th, holding a beer and yelling obscenities about Police.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

According to the release, he was acting on his own and did not have permission to do so.<\/p>\n

Chief Todd says that Osmundson “has accepted full ownership of his actions.\u201d<\/p>\n

FARGO (KFGO<\/a>) \u2013 Fargo Deputy Police Chief Todd Osmundson has been suspended without pay for his actions during Saturday night\u2019s riot.<\/p>\n

Police Chief Dave Todd and Mayor Tim Mahoney say Osmundson chose to operate independently without approval. Osmundson was working behind the scenes without the knowledge of other officers.<\/p>\n

Osmundson \u201ccreated a danger for himself and any officer who may have needed to come to his aid\u201d according to Todd. \u201cThis a serious matter and we are dealing with it quickly. Having a sworn person, whether they are an officer in uniform or a member of my command team acting on their own, operating independent of operations planning is unacceptable and dangerous.\u201d<\/p>\n
