Service)\u00a0 Stutsman County 4-H held its final fair event on August 6th at the Stutsman County Fairgrounds.<\/p>\n<p>4-H Program Coordinator Robin Barnes reports that this was the static exhibit competition \u2013 which are the non-livestock items.\u00a0 While working within the COVID guidelines, we were able to judge 494 exhibits done by 68 4-H\u2019ers.\u00a0 Special thank you to our 11 judges for the day.<\/p>\n<p>She says, the 4-H\u2019ers compete in the many different divisions for grand, reserve and honorable mention awards.\u00a0 Blue, red and white ribbons are also given to each project based on the individual quality and standards that are set for each class.\u00a0 These ribbons determine the premium that is paid to them by the Stutsman County Fair Association, and in normal years, the blue ribbons qualify them for the state fair contest.<\/p>\n<p>The grands move on to compete for the Best of Show in 7 different project areas. \u00a0 There is also an Award of Excellence contest which allows the exhibitor to show off their diversity and ability to do more than just one thing.\u00a0 These top awards are all available due to the wonderful sponsors that support this great program.<\/p>\n<p>The Cloverbuds, which are youth ages 5 to 7, get to also exhibit up to 5 projects without the pressure of being judged. They get to experience the process while learning how to do the exhibits, and get participation ribbons and encouragement from the judges.\u00a0 In the Award of Excellence contest, there are 3 age divisions (photos included).<\/p>\n<p>This year there were no seniors \u2013 ages 15-18.\u00a0 The intermediate division, ages 12-14, had 11 entries and the champion was Nate Kjellberg.\u00a0 The junior division, ages 8-11, had 13 entries and the champion was Kylee Hofmann.\u00a0 The Best of Show Champions and the project area they won were (photos included):\u00a0 Nate Kjellberg \u2013 Animal
