{"id":207327,"date":"2020-09-04T10:36:39","date_gmt":"2020-09-04T15:36:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=207327"},"modified":"2020-09-05T12:07:34","modified_gmt":"2020-09-05T17:07:34","slug":"vcps-adjusts-protocols-barnes-in-moderate-risk-level","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=207327","title":{"rendered":"VCPS adjusts protocols, Barnes in Moderate Risk Level"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-9016\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/vcpsbldg-300x249.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"249\" srcset=\"https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/vcpsbldg-300x249.jpg 300w, https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/vcpsbldg-210x175.jpg 210w, https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/12\/vcpsbldg.jpg 517w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Valley City\u00a0 (VCP)\u00a0 Stemming from Gov Doug Burgum\u2019s announcement, last Thurs, Valley City Public School District\u2019s have adjusted protocols on keeping students, and staff safe.<\/p>\n<p>Burgum has moved Barnes County to the Yellow, of Moderate Risk Level, stemming from recent increases in the number of COVID-19 positive cases.<\/p>\n<p>Valley City Public Schools Superintendent, Josh Johnson has posted a letter regarding the latest information, on the school district\u2019s plan.<\/p>\n<p>The information, is available on their website at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hiliners.org\">www.hiliners.org<\/a> and click on the COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The letter states:<\/p>\n<p>September 3, 2020<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Students, Staff, Parents\/Guardians,<\/p>\n<p>This (Thursday Sept. 3, 2020) \u00a0afternoon we learned from Governor Doug Burgum the COVID-19 risk level increased from green to yellow in Barnes County. This elevated change from low to moderate was based upon the increased positive cases in our county.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Valley City Public Schools District Emergency Response Team met with our local health team<\/p>\n<p>following the Governor\u2019s press conference and has made the decision to CONTINUE with our<\/p>\n<p>Learning Plan B, which is in-person learning for all students K-12.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We discussed mitigation strategies and will be implementing the following changes within the district:<\/p>\n<p>* Students in grades K-6 will wear face masks on the playground during recess<\/p>\n<p>* The district will be changing the spectator attendance limitations following the NDDoH<\/p>\n<p>guidelines beginning on Saturday, September 5th (update to follow).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>We have had an amazing first four days of the school year and could not be more proud of our<\/p>\n<p>students, staff, and parents who have assisted in implementing and following the safety<\/p>\n<p>procedures in our district. While the number of positives cases in the county has increased, the<\/p>\n<p>number of cases and close contacts in the school has remained very low. Our adherence to the<\/p>\n<p>recommended safety measures already in place will allow us to continue with Learning Plan B.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Thank you students, staff, and parents for your continued support. We are better together<\/p>\n<p>bridging health and education at Valley City Public Schools.
