News Jun 13, 2013) &#8212; The $7.5 million rail loop project, to encircle the Spiritwood Energy Park, is moving ahead.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Jamestown\/Stutsman County (JSDC) Business Development Coordinator, DeAnn Brunner said, at this weeks JSDC Board meeting, Great River Energy, Budget Manager, Rich Garman said the rail loop project is in its final design stages, and GRE continues to work closely with BNSF Railway officials.<\/p>\n<p>Bids for the project are expected by the end of June, and awarded in July this year.<\/p>\n<p>Earthwork would start this summer and continue into the fall as weather permits, with rail purchasing over the winter and spring 2014 construction to get the rail in place.,<\/p>\n<p>Garman says, the goal is to get an operational rail line by August 2014.<\/p>\n<p>In other business it was noted that the South Central Regional Council will release the updated Stutsman County Housing Study this month.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Brunner added that by 2020 there will be a need for 1,041 additional housing units in Stutsman County, not even taking into consideration additional individuals in the county involved with construction projects such as the CHS fertilizer plant.<\/p>\n<p>She pointed out that SRF Consultants is planning a meeting with landowners, in the area between the Jamestown Regional Medical Center and Walmart, to discuss future development under the Jamestown Strategic Plan.<\/p>\n<p>The JSDC Board has agreed to recognize the Jamestown Arts Center as an entity for economic development. No dollar outlays are planned at this point.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (KCSi-T.V. News Jun 12, 2013) \u2013 The Governor\u2019s Committee on Aging will meet Fri., June 14, 2013, in Jamestown to discuss issues impacting older adults and the services and programs that help them. The meeting is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at James River Senior Center at Legacy Place (old Jamestown Hospital), 419 Fifth St. N.E., and is open to the public.<\/p>\n<p>Agenda items include legislative updates on various topics including home and community-based services, long-term care, guardianship and petitioning, mandatory reporting of elder abuse, and Vulnerable Adult Protective Services. (AP) &#8211; Authorities have arrested a man they say robbed a pharmacy in Dickinson.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Police say they found suspect Joshua Hunt at a truck stop early Thursday. They had been searching for him since he allegedly entered the Irsfeld Pharmacy about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday and passed an employee a threatening note demanding drugs.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0 Hunt was arrested without incident. He was jailed pending formal charges.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A beef cow in south central North Dakota that originated in Texas has tested positive for bovine tuberculosis in initial tests.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 State animal health officials say the cow has been removed from the herd and killed. Results of additional testing are expected within two months. Officials say there is no immediate health risk to the general public.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 North Dakota has been recognized by the federal government as being TB-free since 1976. A state must have at least two herds test positive for the disease within two years to lose that status.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A Langdon man has pleaded guilty in federal court in Fargo to fleecing farmers in 2009 and 2010. Thirty-two-year-old Lance Schill was accused of advertising himself as a licensed grain bin dealer, then using the advance money farmers gave him to build his own home. Schill is to be sentenced on August 29th.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The U.S. Department of Agriculture is forecasting North Dakota&#8217;s 2013 winter wheat crop to be down 61 percent from last year&#8217;s record crop.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The department in its crop production report forecast the crop based on June 1st conditions at 15.6 million bushels, down 12 percent from the May 1st estimate.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The average yield is forecast at 46 bushels per acre, down 6 bushels from last month and down 9 bushels from last year.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Acreage to be harvested for grain is estimated at 340,000 acres, unchanged from May 1st but down 53 percent from last year. Sports Jun 12, 2013) &#8212; Jamestown College athletic director Lawrie Paulson announced Wednesday that head men\u2019s soccer coach Phillip Bohn has resigned after four seasons with the Jimmies.<\/p>\n<p>Bohn\u2019s 2012 team won a school record 16 games, including a first-ever NAIA tournament victory, and won the A.I.I. Tournament Championship at San Marcos, Calif.<\/p>\n<p>He was named the A.I.I. Coach of the Year. Three Jimmie players were named to the NAIA Men\u2019s All-Midwest Region Team by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, and sophomore Jade Johnson was named the program\u2019s first-ever All-American.<\/p>\n<p>Bohn also served as head women\u2019s soccer coach from 2009 to 2011.
