{"id":209092,"date":"2020-09-30T10:06:31","date_gmt":"2020-09-30T15:06:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=209092"},"modified":"2020-09-30T10:07:47","modified_gmt":"2020-09-30T15:07:47","slug":"city-council-9","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=209092","title":{"rendered":"Council approves water main project&#8217;s additional costs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-194087\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/SpecialMeetingCouncil-300x202.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"202\" srcset=\"https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/SpecialMeetingCouncil-300x202.png 300w, https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/SpecialMeetingCouncil-260x175.png 260w, https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/SpecialMeetingCouncil.png 445w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 The Jamestown City Council met in Special Session on Tuesday at City Hall, at 5-p.m.\u00a0 All members were present.\u00a0 Council Member Buchanan joined by phone.<\/p>\n<p>The City Council\u00a0 approved and authorized the issuance of improvement warrants and exchange them for Refunding Improvement Bonds of 2020, Series AD (Project 19-41), and awarded the sale of Refunding Improvement Bonds.<\/p>\n<p>The representative from Collier\u2019s said, the Public Sale was held Tuesday and the low bidder of three bids, was Northland Securities at $2,050,000, for the Special Assessment bond over seven years.\u00a0 The transaction will be effective October, 15, 2020.<\/p>\n<p>The City Council approved the request from Knights of Columbus for a site authorization to conduct gaming at Jonny B\u2019s Brickhouse for the period October 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Considered was a Change Order No. 3, to Scherbenske Inc., for the 2020 Water Main Improvement District 20-61.<\/p>\n<p>Ben Aaseth from Interstate Engineering said, the original plan was to line the pipe, located behind Haut Funeral Home.\u00a0 However it was decided to \u201cpipe burst,\u201d the line instead due to changes necessitated in the project\u2019s procedure.<\/p>\n<p>The discount was eventually reduced to $37,500 in costs, from the original 50 percent additional project cost.<\/p>\n<p>The completion date of October 18, 2020 is still doable.<\/p>\n<p>Mayor Heinrich said, despite the increase in cost, \u00a0if the work is not completed this fall, there is a risk of the pipeline bursting this winter.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 The Jamestown City Council met in Special Session on Tuesday at City Hall, at 5-p.m.\u00a0 All members were present.\u00a0 Council Member Buchanan joined by phone.
