During the project, crews will remove existing pavement markings and then replace them. The new markings will help shift traffic flow through downtown Jamestown from four lanes to two lanes with an addition of a center turning lane.<\/p>\n<p><strong>During Construction<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Pavement marking will be installed<\/li>\n<li>The project starts on US\/52 5<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0St NW just east of the James River Bridge and Ends at the intersection of 1<sup>st<\/sup>\u00a0Ave S and 8<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0St S<\/li>\n<li>Short traffic delays should be expected during construction<\/li>\n<li>Traffic will shift from four lanes to two driving lanes and a center turn lane<\/li>\n<li>Plans do not call for changing the traffic striping on Fifth Street Northwest until next spring.Work on changes to sidewalks and pedestrian crossings is planned to begin next spring.<\/li>\n<li>Traffic signs, no parking signs and pedestrian crossing signs to be put up this fall.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This portion of the project is expected to be complete by the end of the week.<\/p>\n<p>The North Dakota Department of Transportation would like to remind motorists to slow down and use caution throughout the work zone.<\/p>\n<p>For more information about construction projects and road conditions throughout North Dakota, call 511 or visit the ND Roads map at\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dot.nd.gov\/travel-info-v2\/\"><strong>http:\/\/www.dot.nd.gov\/travel-info-v2\/<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Update&#8230;\u00a0 On Friday morning the cones and traffic direction indicators had been removed on First Avenue.\u00a0 This phase of the project, with the paving marking changes is finished.
