Valley City\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 Santa Cops & Kids will go on, with some changes.<\/p>\n
VC Police Lt. Dana Rustebakke says the event has been changed due to safety issues associated with the pandemic.<\/p>\n
Instead of taking the kids out to eat and the shopping, the plan involves gathering the children\u2019s names submitted, then purchase the gifts, wrap them, and deliver the gifts to their door step.<\/p>\n
Individuals or businesses that would like to donate to Santa, Cops & Kids program, can do so through the Valley City Police Department or drop it off at the Police Department Office. Make checks payable to James\/Valley Lodge #4. For more information call the Valley City Police Department at 701-845-3110.<\/p>\n
Members of the Valley City, Lisbon and Jamestown Police Depts along with deputies from the Barnes & Ransom Counties Sheriff\u2019s Office, NDHighway Patrol and Barnes County Ambulance team up to support children and their families during this program annually.<\/p>\n

Valley City\u00a0 (CSi) Valley City Police Chief Phil Hatcher has informed the community that \u00a0this year there will not<\/strong> be the annual Santa Cops and Kids event due to concerns with the COVID-19 pandemic due to safety issues.\u00a0 He thanks to the generous donations from businesses and individuals in the past who have made this program possible every year.<\/p>\n The Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge Number 4, is considering other ways to conduct the event in a different format, to cheer up some kids.<\/p>\n They look forward to hosting the event again next year.<\/p>\n If any individual or business would still like to donate to Santa, Cops & Kids program, mail the donation to the Valley City Police Department or drop it off at the Police Department Office in Valley City. If donating with a check, make checks payable to James\/Valley Lodge #4.<\/p>\n
