On Friday\u2019s Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Board Member, Jay Nitschke said, having a pet is an investment, and returning an animal after they become used to a home, is very stressful for that dog or cat.<\/p>\n
Jay thanked the Jamestown Car dealers for collecting items during a friendly competition, as many pet related items were donated by the community, and given to the shelter.<\/p>\n
Jay highlighted three dogs available for adoption.\u00a0 \u201cLola,\u201d is a young pit-mix,, \u201cBullet\u201d is a boxer-pit mix and \u201cBrindle\u201d is mixed stanfordshire.<\/p>\n
Three cats available for adoption include: \u201cJules,\u201d a two year old tuxedo cat, \u201cJazzy\u201d a six month old calico cat with special needs, and \u201cTommy Lee\u201d is a nine month old orange tabby.<\/p>\n
Currently around 10 dogs and about 15-20 cats are available for adoption.<\/p>\n
Jay added that cash donations as a Christmas gift are welcome, as fundraisers were not held this year due to the pandemic.<\/p>\n
When recycling cans check with Gerdue Ameristeele to have the cash donated to the James River Humane Society.\u00a0 Also Amazon Smile, and other web sites have similar options for donations.<\/p>\n
