(<\/a>UJ<\/a>) Three goals in a span of 3:25 in the second period proved to be too much for the University of Jamestown hockey team to overcome as the Jimmies lost 5-1 to Minot State University Saturday night at Wilson Arena.<\/p>\n

Brayden Pawluk, Nick Doyle, and Adam Wowryk each tallied for the Beavers as they took a 3-0 lead into the second intermission.<\/p>\n

Justin Metcalf made it 4-0 with a goal at 7:51 of the third period.<\/p>\n

Jordon Kromm<\/a> (FR\/Calgary, Alberta) put the Jimmies on the board, scoring at 11:01 of the third with assists by Logan Berggren<\/a> (FR\/Cypress, Calif.) and Quin Garrison<\/a> (SO\/Prince George, British Columbia).<\/p>\n

Drew Carter rounded out the scoring for Minot State at 13:36 of the third period.<\/p>\n

Jamestown had plenty of opportunities with the man advantage as the Beavers were whistled for 14 minor penalties. However, the Jimmies went 0-for-9 on the power play. Minot State was 2-for-7 on their power play chances.<\/p>\n

Shots were 36-25 in favor of the Beavers. Tyson Brouwer<\/a> (SR\/Lethbridge, Alberta) made 31 stops for UJ while Minot State’s Troy Martiniuk had 24 saves.<\/p>\n

The Jimmies, now 5-6-3 this season, are scheduled to play at Midland (Neb.) University on January 8.<\/p>\n
