News Jun 23, 2013) \u2013 The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports a one vehicle rollover early Sunday, about 12:04 a.m. four miles southwest of Highway 52, eight miles northwest of Jamestown, injured four teens.<\/p>\n<p>The report says 19 year old Trevor Peterson of Jamestown\u00a0was driving a Chevrolet Cavalier that had left the Parkhurst Recreational Area northwest of Jamestown, ND. Peterson and three 16 year old juvenile females were traveling westbound on 30th St SE. As Peterson was traveling westbound he encountered a sharp angle turn causing the westbound roadway to turn northbound. Peterson was unable to safely navigate the turn, with the vehicle sliding sideways into the west ditch of the northbound portion of the roadway. After entering the ditch, the vehicles tires caught at the bottom of the incline of the ditch, causing the vehicle to overturn, coming to a rest on it\u2019s roof.<\/p>\n<p>Neither Peterson, nor the three passengers were wearing safety restraint devices. All remained in the vehicle and were not ejected. Jamestown Ambulance Service transported all 4 individuals to the Jamestown Regional Medical Center.<\/p>\n<p>Injured were Peterson, along with the passengers : 16 year old Kaitlyn Oviatt of Eldridge, 16 year old Terrica Stoppleworth of Jamestown, and 16 year old Kourtnee Aipperspach of Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>Peterson was charged with a DUI, as the investigation continues.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000The NDHP\u00a0 was assisted by the\u00a0 Stutsman County Sheriff&#8217;s Office.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Valley City, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Jun 21, 2013) \u2014 Update\u2026A prisoner who escaped from the Barnes County jail, on Thursday afternoon (Jun 20, 2013 has been found and taken into custody.<\/p>\n<p>Barnes County Sheriff Randy McClaflin says\u00a0 Matthew Hayes Kidd, Jr., was taken into custody on Friday June 21, 2013 at 7:45 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Kidd, Jr., was spotted at a farmstead at 4:00 p.m. fleeing on foot.<\/p>\n<p>He was found in a shelter belt two miles north and one mile east of Fingal, spotted by an individual passing by that area.<\/p>\n<p>McClaflin adds, Kidd Jr. was taken into custody without incident.<\/p>\n<p>Kidd, Jr. \u00a0is in jail on a domestic assault charge.<\/p>\n<p>Assisting the Barnes County Sheriff\u2019s Office in the apprehension were the Cass County Sheriff\u2019s Office and the North Dakota Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n<p>JamestownThe work at the locations was completed about 4:30-p.m., on Friday. News) &#8212; The James River Humane Society will benefit from proceeds from the &#8220;Zombie Crawl,&#8221; July 27, 2013 in Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>The event is similar to an a pub crawl held in Fargo.<\/p>\n<p>Creators Johnny Jerome and Joel Grant say participants are in &#8220;zombie&#8221; costumes going from bar to bar similar to Runnin\u2019 O\u2019 The Green in Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;Zombie Crawl,&#8221; in Jamestown is planned for July 27, 2013, beginning at 8-p.m.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; North Dakota&#8217;s State Water Commission has approved about $1.3 million to begin engineering work on a $60 million project to protect Valley City, Lisbon and Fort Ransom from Sheyenne River flooding.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Sheyenne River Valley Flood Control Project will use a combination of property buyouts, floodwalls and levees to safeguard the cities. The state Legislature earlier this year approved $21 million for the effort. The cities also will contribute.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The state is making an exception to its practice of helping with construction costs but requiring local entities to cover engineering costs for such projects. Gov. Jack Dalrymple says a distinction must be made because outlets that drain Devils Lake floodwaters into the Sheyenne are increasing the flood risk for the three cities.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u3000\u00a0FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; An annual charity auction in Fargo that helps raise money for the Roger Maris Cancer Center was targeted by thieves this year.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Officials say more than 100 items were taken from a storage facility earlier this month. (AP) &#8211; Authorities have identified a man who died in a weekend crash in northwestern North Dakota while allegedly fleeing from law officers.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Highway Patrol says 46-year-old Gary Yarbrough, of Roseburg, Ore., died Saturday night when the pickup truck he was driving went out of control on state Highway 1804 in Williams County, overturned onto its roof and slid into a semitrailer.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities allege that Yarbrough had been harassing workers in a construction zone and fled when a county deputy tried to stop him. A Bureau of Indian Affairs officer later joined the chase.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Yarbrough died at the scene of the crash about 7 1\/2 miles west of Trenton. (AP) &#8211; The North Dakota Judicial Conduct Commission has scheduled a public hearing\u00a0 for a state district judge in Fargo facing a complaint that he sexually harassed a court reporter.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The commission is set to hear the case against East Central District Judge Wickham Corwin on Monday and on Tuesday, if more time is needed. The hearing will be at the Fargo Holiday Inn.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Corwin has denied the allegations. He has said he made mistakes but is not guilty of serious misconduct.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0DICKINSON, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Former State Board of Higher Education chancellor Hamid Shirvani had glowing remarks for at least one university president in the state.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Shirvani was sharply criticized for his evaluations of 10 university presidents in North Dakota, including the presidents of University of North Dakota and North Dakota State University.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 But Shirvani had positive things to say about Dickinson State University president D.C. Coston.\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nShirvani said in his evaluation that the efforts of Coston and his colleagues &#8220;have been nothing short of remarkable.&#8221; Shirvani said he was impressed with Coston&#8217;s leadership and attention to details.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 But the evaluation has been basically rendered meaningless. The board decided not to approve the evaluations and placed Shirvani on administrative leave this past week. His contract had earlier been bought out.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0MINOT, N.D. (AP) &#8211; The Federal Emergency Management Agency has provided more than $185 million the Souris River Valley recover from flooding that struck two years ago\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nFEMA also manages a program providing temporary housing.
