but we have still done great things to enhance our impact once the pandemic is under control.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During the COVID-19 pandemic the library was:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>One of the first libraries to close last March<\/li>\n<li>Kept our employees working on projects to benefit our community<\/li>\n<li>One of the first libraries in the state to reopen (June 15)<\/li>\n<li>Retreated back to curbside during November spike<\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<li><strong>Reopening to the public January 25, 2021.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The Alfred Dickey Public Library will be open 10-a.m., to 6-p.m.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>The Stutsman County Library will be open 9-a.m. to 5-p.m.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>He added that the Stutsman County Bookmobile is operating, dropping off items, as social distancing does not allow people to safely enter the bookmobile.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>During the pandemic, the library provided several services.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Summer reading program for all ages online<\/li>\n<li>Facebook story times<\/li>\n<li>Binge bags<\/li>\n<li>Personalized item selection<\/li>\n<li>Bookmobile has been delivering book bins to schools and daycares<\/li>\n<li>Mitten tree<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Safety of library patrons continues to be a major concern.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Frequent disinfecting of library surfaces<\/li>\n<li>Bookmarks telling how to safely disinfect library materials<\/li>\n<li>Social distancing<\/li>\n<li>Limited use of library equipment (2 computers at each library)<\/li>\n<li>Limit of 25 patrons in ADPL at a time; 10 at SCL<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-51706\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Stuts-Cnty-Library-300x202.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"202\" srcset=\"https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Stuts-Cnty-Library-300x202.jpg 300w, https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Stuts-Cnty-Library-259x175.jpg 259w, https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/Stuts-Cnty-Library.jpg 445w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Joe pointed out new projects that will enhance the communities enjoyment of the library.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Remodeling SCL (landscaping, painting interior, shelving)<\/li>\n<li>Meeting room AV project &#8211; donation in honor of Madeline Bellows (laser projector, built-in speakers, Xbox, DVD player, custom cabinet)<\/li>\n<li>Creating Libraries of Things \u2013 puzzles, games, kitchen implements, tools, craft implements<\/li>\n<li>Working on upgrading our programming capabilities to hit the ground running when the pandemic comes under control<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The community can \u00a0help with the \u201cLibraries of Things.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Friends of the Library are raising funding<\/li>\n<li>There will be opportunities for item donations \u2013 nice puzzles, games, kitchen items, tools<\/li>\n<li>Donations aren\u2019t being accepted yet, but stay tuned to our Facebook<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>With the expansion of expanding the Alfred Dickey Public library Joe said\u00a0 the board is <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Looking to purchase property for a new or expanded library<\/li>\n<li>Saving money through budget efficiencies\n<ul>\n<li>Not seeking additional tax dollars<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>New facility would operate in conjunction with ADPL<\/li>\n<li>Seeking high visibility, easy access, proximity to schools, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Attractive spaces for programming, technology, study (people)<\/li>\n<li>Looking to build 5 \u2013 7 years after purchasing property\n<ul>\n<li>Combination of saved funds &amp;
