Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Jul 2, 2013) \u2014 An open house was held Tuesday evening to provide information on the sanitary sewer\/lift station project scheduled to start July 22 in northwest Jamestown.<\/p>\n

While public turnout was light, Interstate Engineering wants citizens along the proposed route to sign-up at the project website for email alerts.<\/p>\n

Jamestown, ND Sewer Construction Project<\/a>. The website will have maps, the most current information, and will email changes of importance.<\/b><\/p>\n

It is anticipated the street work will close one block for a period of approximately 3 days. As the work is completed, the street paving patch work will follow in a couple days. The timetable is subject to weather delays, so all residents are encouraged to visit the website. Construction information will be available at CsiNewsNow.com and updates on The Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2.<\/p>\n

At Historic Franklin, home for CSi, the project will border the entire south side and east side. When the east side is closed to traffic, visitors and customers can enter thru the south entrance, or enter the parking lot from 4th AV SW, to be able to access the elevator enterance.<\/p>\n

Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Jul 2, 2013) — Jamestown Police is warning the public of a convicted sex offender living within the city of Jamestown.<\/p>\n

The report says 40 year old Keith Michael Disbrow, resides at the North Dakota State Hospital Transitional Housing, at 2008 Circle Drive in Jamestown.<\/p>\n

He has no vehicle.<\/p>\n

Disbrow is a white male, 6 feet tall, weighing 380 pounds with brown eyes and hair.<\/p>\n

He has been assigned a high risk assessment by the North Dakota Risk Level Committee of the North Dakota Attorney General\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n

Disbrow\u2019s offense: Sexual Imposition \u2013 Over the course of two years, Disbrow molested two girls who were 7-9 years old and 9-11 years old. Force and threats were used to make the victims comply. The conviction date was October 1, 2001, in Pembina County District Court. Disposition was 15 years with 10 years suspended for 10 years.<\/p>\n

Disbrow is not wanted by police at this time and is currently serving the sentence imposed by the court. This notification is meant for public safety and not to increase fear in the community, nor should this information be used to threaten, assault, or intimidate the offender. Attempts to harass, intimidate or threaten these offenders or their families, landlords or employers will be turned over for prosecution.<\/p>\n

Disbrow is currently on probation with North Dakota Parole and Probation and has been placed on GPS monitoring.<\/p>\n

Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Jul 2, 2013) — The Buffalo City Tourism Foundation Board is mulling over the idea of changing the name to Tour Jamestown.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday\u2019s (Jul 2, 2013) Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Tourism Executive Director, Searle Swedlund said, the words “Buffalo City” doesn\u2019t define the geographical area on Jamestown, North Dakota.<\/p>\n

He added, with the world wide web searches Tour Jamestown would give a more global sense to the area.<\/p>\n

He said a name change would also reference outdoor, and other activities available in the Jamestown area.<\/p>\n

The Foundation Board continues to address marketing challenges, including how tourism has an impact on economic development.<\/p>\n

Swedlund pointed out the the Foundation Board will meet on July 15, 2013 and will hear a presentation from two advertising agencies.<\/p>\n

He noted the web site www.tourjamestown.com<\/b><\/a> is being updated with information about tourism attraction in Jamestown and the area.<\/b><\/b><\/p>\n

Swedlund said the upcoming drag races at Jamestown Regional Airport on July 27, 28 continues to grow each year, and also has a large economic impact on the Jamestown area. The Foundation Board recently approved a grant request to help buy a stager for the drag races.<\/p>\n

Another tourism, economic impact on the area each year is the Ft. Seward Wagon Train.<\/p>\n

Ramrod Delno Kleinknect says this year the wagon train attracted riders from 18 states and Germany.<\/p>\n

\u00a0MANDAREE, N.D. (AP) – The body of a man thought to have drowned on Lake Sakakawea (suh-kaw-kuh-WEE’-uh) on June 22nd has been recovered. The body was found Saturday evening in the area of Skunk Creek Bay, roughly five miles south of the Pouch Point boat ramp.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – A McIntosh County man charged with starving to death more than 100 cattle now also stands accused of making false statements to insurance agents. Forty-four-year-old James Schnabel earlier this year pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor counts of mistreating animals.<\/p>\n

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) – A jury has convicted three men charged in a Grand Forks home invasion. All three could face life in prison.<\/p>\n

Cody Boulduc and brothers Allen and Nathan Ratliff each were convicted on all of the felony counts they faced in the April 2012 incident.<\/p>\n

Authorities say the men broke into the home of Sherman and Carmen Jones, demanding prescription drugs and money and stealing various items including jewelry and medicine. They were accused of binding the couple with duct tape and beating them with small clubs, and also killing their dog.<\/p>\n

The jury deliberated about four hours Tuesday before convicting the suspects on charges of burglary, assault, robbery, theft and felonious restraint. A sentencing date was not immediately set.<\/p>\n

\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota Gov. Jack Dalrymple is asking President Barack Obama to declare 19 North Dakota counties and two Indian reservations a federal disaster area to help them recover from severe storms and heavy rainfall.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Dalrymple sent the letter on Tuesday.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The governor says many areas of North Dakota received record rainfall between May 17 and June 16, leading to major flooding that caused an estimated $7 million in damages to roads, bridges and other public infrastructure.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 School administrators’ emails can’t be deleted for at least one year after the current fiscal year ends.\u00a0 The new function dumps any emails more than a month old into a trash file.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 TransCanada finished a tree-planting project along the Keystone pipeline near Fort Ransom last month.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Bill Kiebke lives less than a mile from the pump station. He says the tree-planting project was a failure when it comes to quieting the four, 5,000-horsepower electric turbines at the site.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Kiebke’s son, Joe, says the trees planted on three sides of the pump station are now funneling noise directly at their home. He says it has created an amphitheater effect.

The billboard is part of a Greater North Dakota Chamber campaign aimed at promoting North Dakota’s booming economy and encouraging Minnesota to improve its business climate.

\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) – North Dakota’s agriculture commissioner says a research effort to develop corn hybrids for the northern U.S. and southern Canada should bring new opportunities and options to the state.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Doug Goehring says Monsanto plans to spend $100 million over the next 10 years to develop new varieties of earlier maturing corn hybrids more suited to North Dakota’s climate. The project includes a sustained breeding effort with field testing, agronomic training, marketing and support.
