Valley City\u00a0 (Chamber 4-12-21)\u00a0 Valley City Mayor, Dave Carlsrud has sent a new message to Valley City residents.<\/p>\n

Hello Everyone,<\/p>\n

\u201cSpring Clean-up\u201d will be the week of May 24th.\u00a0Please keep your alleys and boulevards free of junk until that time.\u00a0Be proud of your property and keep it \u201cLooking good\u201d in the mean time.\u00a0Thank you for your cooperation.\u00a0https:\/\/www.valleycity.us\/public-works\/<\/a><\/p>\n

Valley City is a Municipal Power Community and through Missouri River Energy Services (MRES), our electrical rates have been very reasonable and are expected to remain stable for many years to come.\u00a0MRES\u2019 leadership has utilized long range planning so that base load power generation along with renewable energy (hydro, wind, and solar) combined with hedge purchases of market power have enabled members like Valley City to avert increased energy costs during the polar vortex.\u00a0In fact, MRES\u2019 power generation exceeded needs during the polar vortex allowing MRES to realize financial gains.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Nicer weather is bringing more people out to enjoy Valley City parks, the Sheyenne River, shared use paths etc.\u00a0People who are out on bikes, skateboards, rollerblades, walking and jogging need to enjoy their activities safely.\u00a0Drivers need to be prudent about safety too.\u00a0There are a number of drivers going too fast for conditions, speeding and going through stop signs.\u00a0\u201cStop\u201d means to \u201ccease motion\u201d versus slowing or rolling through.\u00a0Please everyone, respect each other and be safe.<\/p>\n

We are still in a drought!\u00a0Over the weekend where there had been an inch of rain, a person though it would be okay to burn.\u00a0The decision resulted in a runaway fire and a call to the fire department.\u00a0Wait a bit longer, DO NOT burn yet!<\/p>\n

Our Parks and Recreation and Valley City Public Works are cleaning and trimming our parks, streets and alleys for your use.\u00a0Please dispose of your garbage in appropriate containers versus LITTERING.\u00a0Please do your part in keeping our city the \u201cMost Beautiful City in North Dakota\u201d.<\/p>\n

Chautauqua Park gets really dusty, please adhere to the 5 MPH Speed Limit so the kids playing and people picnicking can enjoy without dust.\u00a0Oh, and drive slower in alleys.\u00a0Thank you for your efforts.<\/p>\n

There are legislative bills that could affect you.<\/p>\n
