Valley City (Chamber)\u00a0 On April 19, 2021 Valley City Mayor Dave Carlsrud has issued a new message to the community.<\/p>\n

Hi Folks,<\/p>\n

THANK YOU to all people who have been \u201cfront line workers\u201d during the battles with COVID-19.\u00a0A few occupations where people are exposed to the COVID are: clergy, healthcare, law enforcement and education.\u00a0If you meet people who serve in those or like professions, please say \u201cthank you\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you see someone without a smile, give him or her yours\u201d<\/p>\n

We have had people contact city employees and commissioners about issues with their neighbors.\u00a0One of the questions I try to ask is, \u201chave you visited with your neighbor about the issue\u201d?\u00a0Very often they have not!\u00a0Seminars on \u201cConflict Resolution\u201d tell us \u201ccommunication resolves conflict\u201d.\u00a0We don\u2019t have to be friends we just have to talk with each other. \u00a0Whenever resolution can be reached without a third party, it will be better.\u00a0If civil issues go to court, \u00a0generally both parties lose.\u00a0A friend of mine says, \u201cThe answer is usually somewhere in the middle\u201d. Be neighborly, who knows, visiting could begin a good relationship.<\/p>\n
