News Aug 13, 2012) &#8212; Stutsman County, through an agreement with Richland County, has contracted with CodeRED to allow anyone the opportunity to receive emergency notifications requiring immediate action and weather warnings for free.<\/p>\n<p>Stutsman County Emergency Manager, Jerry Berguist says, currently, only residential landline phones in Stutsman County will receive emergency notifications from the County.<\/p>\n<p>Any business line, cell phone line, VoIP phone line, email address, or text messaging capable phone needs to register for the service by logging onto the Stutsman County website at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stutsmancounty.org\/\"><strong>www.stutsmancounty.org<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Once on the site, click the link to be directed to the secured &#8220;CodeRED Community Notification Enrollment&#8221; page.<\/p>\n<p>Required information to register includes first and last name, street address, city, state, zip code, and phone numbers to be entered.<\/p>\n<p>An exact address is needed due to the geographically based delivery system that CodeRED uses.<\/p>\n<p>The registration page also allows users the opportunity to sign up to receive emergency weather warnings.<\/p>\n<p>This is an opt-in service only.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone wishing to use this service must register by opting in on the enrollment page, including residential landline phones.<\/p>\n<p>Users have the option to receive alerts anytime the National Weather Service issues a tornado warning, severe weather warning or flash flood warning for the address entered on the enrollment page.<\/p>\n<p>Only users that are registered for the service will receive the message.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, you will only be warned if you live in the warned polygon that the National Weather Service has issued a warning for.<\/p>\n<p>A test of the CodeRED system will be initiated for all of Stutsman County Thursday, August 16, 2012 <strong>in the afternoon. <\/strong>(note change).<\/p>\n<p>Normal text messaging rates apply to users who decide to opt in for the text messaging service.<\/p>\n<p>If there are any questions regarding the system, please call Stutsman County Emergency Management at 701-252-9093.<\/p>\n<p>Bergquist will explain more on Tuesday\u2019s (Aug 14, 2012) Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2 at 8:25 a.m., with replays at noon, 5-p.m., 6:25 p.m., and 10-p.m.<\/p>\n<p>STEELE, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A 50-year-old man has been arrested on<br \/>\nsuspicion of starting a weekend fire that destroyed a popular motel<br \/>\nin the North Dakota town of Steele.<br \/>\nThe man had not been charged as of late Monday afternoon.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Lone Steer Motel in the town just off Interstate 94 about 40<br \/>\nmiles east of Bismarck burned to the ground Sunday morning.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 All of the two dozen people in the building got out safely.<br \/>\nSsome people had to exit second-floor windows, make a short drop to another roof and then jump into the bed of a pickup truck parked next to the motel.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Most of the people staying there are with a construction crew<br \/>\nworking in the area.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0MOORHEAD, Minn.
