(AP) &#8211; Republican North Dakota Gov. Jack Dalrymple<br \/>\nis proposing $545 million in tax cuts and says the state should play a greater role in funding education.<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The plan that would be considered in the 2013 Legislature if<br \/>\nDalrymple wins election includes cuts in property taxes, as well as<br \/>\nindividual and corporate income taxes.<\/p>\n<p>It expands the homestead tax credit for disabled and senior citizens.<br \/>\nDalrymple wants a 50 percent reduction in the average school<br \/>\ndistrict tax levy.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He says that would save the owner of a $180,000 home nearly $1,100 in property taxes.<br \/>\nDemocratic state Sen. Ryan Taylor, who&#8217;s running against Dalrymple, says the governor is &#8220;reacting to issues long after hearing the public outcry.&#8221;<br \/>\nTaylor says he released his plan more than two months ago.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00a0FARGO, N.D.
