\"\"<\/a>Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 A large turnout was on hand on Wednesday to congratulate former Stutsman County Emergency Manager, Jerry Bergquist well on his retirement after over 32 years at the position.<\/p>\n

At noontime a presentation was made to Jerry of gifts.\u00a0 Stutsman County Veterans Service Office, David Bratton presented Jerry with a gift from the organizers of the event of a fishing pole.\u00a0 Stutsman County Sheriff, Chad Kaiser explained why Jerry Received the fishing pole, with a standing joke about Jerry being out fishing.\u00a0 David said Jerry was a mentor to him when he began his veterans service position a few years ago.<\/p>\n

Jamestown Police Chief, Scott Edinger spoke of Jerry’s ongoing dedication to his position, as Jerry was on call day and night to serve in emergencies.<\/p>\n

Jerry concluded by thanking the Stutsman County Commission for allowing him to hire Andrew Kirking an Riley\u00a0 Schafer a few months in advance of his retirement to “pass the baton,” to them and allow him to finish projects and allow them to carry on with new projects.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Jerry noted the many technology changes coming to the 9-1-1- system.\u00a0 \"\"<\/a>Succeeding Jerry Bergquist as Stutsman Emergency Manager is Andrew Kirking, who comes to Jamestown with experience over the last several years as the Pembina County Emergency Manager, with Assistance Emergency Manager, and Communications Administrator, Riley Schafer a former Sheriff’s Deputy.<\/p>\n

A meal was provided to those attending the Open House, held in the LEC downstairs meeting room<\/p>\n
