Valley City, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Jul 18, 2013) \u2014 Officials with Sanford clinic and Mercy Hospital in Valley City are informing the patients and the pubic, that the two healthcare providers have reached an agreement concerning the clinic physicians hospital privileges.<\/p>\n

Officials add that patients should not notice any changes in the care they receive now or in the future.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month four Sanford Clinic physicians said they were going to resign their hospital privileges on August first.<\/p>\n

Right now that will not be necessary.<\/p>\n

The new agreement reached on Thursday July 18, 2013 means the physicians will not be resigning.<\/p>\n

More details of the agreement will be released later.<\/p>\n

Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Jul 18, 2013) — Officials with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, in Omaha, have announced gate changes at Jamestown and Pipestem Dams.<\/p>\n

Bob Martin in Jamestown reported that on Thursday (Jul 18, 2013) the Pipestem Dam release was increased from 300 cfs to 400 cfs, while the Jamestown Dam release was decreased from 600 cfs to 500 cfs to maintain the combined release at 900 cfs.<\/p>\n

On Friday this week, Martin said the Pipestem Dam release will be increased further to 500 cfs, and Jamestown Dam will be dropped down to 400 cfs, still a combined release of 900 cfs.<\/p>\n

On Thursday the inflow at Jamestown Reservoir was 75 cfs, and the inflow at Pipestem Reservoir was at 40 cfs.<\/p>\n

Martin adds that early next week the Pipestem Dam release will bump up to 600 cfs while Jamestown Dam\u2019s release will be dropped down to 300 cfs, with the combined release still at 900 cfs.<\/p>\n

Its expected that late next week the Corps will decrease the Jamestown Dam release to 200 cfs, while maintaining the Pipestem release at 600 cfs, for a lower combined release of 800 cfs.<\/p>\n

Martin said as of Thursday this week, Jamestown Reservoir has three percent in the flood storage pool, two feet above the freeze up level, which is projected to occur at the end of this month.<\/p>\n

Pipestem Reservoir was at 35 percent of the flood storage are occupied, with 28 left to drop to reach freeze up level, which is anticipated to occur there by September 1, 2013.<\/p>\n

Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Jul 18, 2013) — Additional Silver Carp have been discovered and confirmed by the North Dakota Game & Fish Department in the James River.<\/p>\n

Two weeks ago several were caught south of Jamestown.<\/p>\n

The Department\u2019 s District Fisheries Supervisor, Fred Rykman says Silver carp entered the James River from the Missouri River during the summer flooding in 2011.<\/p>\n

The invasive fish, which leaps out of the water, can wreck eco-systems and create a danger to boaters.<\/p>\n

Rykman said they know the carp have survived in North Dakota waters.<\/p>\n

Biologist are trying to determine if theSilver Carp can reproduce.<\/p>\n

Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Jul 18, 2013) — The Jamestown Regional Airport Authority has reviewed the 27 existing leases for use of airport property.<\/p>\n

On Thursday\u2019s (Jul 18, 2013) Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Jamestown Regional Airport, Manager, Mathew Leitner said airport officials are preparing to make changes as the leases expire.<\/p>\n

There are three agricultural leases and the balance are non-aeronautical and aeronautical.<\/p>\n

He said airport officials will meet with attorneys, and parties that are affected on lease agreements.<\/p>\n

Airport Authority members will review the information and may act on changing the leases at a future meeting.<\/p>\n

With Jamestown boardings, Leitner said there were 218 passenger boardings in June, a 24 percent increase from 175 in June 2012, and up from the May 2013 206 boardings, was 7 percent from May 2012.<\/p>\n

Leitner pointed out the the new electronic gate access will be finished being installed by next week. The new rotating beacon will be installed later this summer along with new runway lighting. He added that the North Dakota Aeronautics Commission has supplied $100,000 with a five percent local match.<\/p>\n

He noted that the addition of new T-hangars at the airport will occur next spring or summer with the first 10 hangars.<\/p>\n

Leitner added that the Buffalo City Tourism Board has approve spending dollars to install an additional flat screen t.v. at the terminal which has software that will show Jamestown events and other information for passengers coming to Jamestown.<\/p>\n

He said the Jamestown Drag Racing Association will hold drag races at Jamestown Regional Airport on July 27 & 28, 2013.<\/p>\n

He stated that part of one runway will be shut down for the races, adding that if a change in wind direction occurs the races will be suspended if aircraft need to utilize that runway.<\/p>\n

\n\u00a0Wesley Levi Manikowski fell from the cab of the tractor at about 7:40 p.m. Wednesday. The young boy was seeding cover crop with his 4-year-old brother and father.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The 1-year-old boy was taken to Oakes Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

\nYankton returned briefly as chairman on Wednesday, but opponents obtained an emergency injunction from the Northern Plains Intertribal Court of Appeals in Aberdeen, S.D., which declared him out of office.
\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 That effectively restores Leander “Russ” McDonald to the chairmanship until further court proceedings.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Until Wednesday, there had been no process of appeal from the tribal court because Yankton had not renewed a contract with the appeals court in mid-2011. But the tribal council had met earlier Wednesday and voted to renew the tribe’s contract with Northern Plains.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 UND officials are hoping to break ground in July 2014 and complete construction by July 2016.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Joshua Wynne, vice president for health affairs and dean of the medical school, said the site recommendation committee considered the location’s convenience for students, parking availability and how it tied in with the university’s strategic plan.

ASPEN, Colo. (AP) – A top defense official says the National Security Agency is implementing new security measures because of the disclosures by former NSA systems analyst Edward Snowden. Deputy Defense Secretary Ashton Carter said systems administrators like Snowden must now work with a colleague when accessing sensitive, compartmented intelligence of the kind Snowden leaked to the media. Snowden revealed that the agency was gathering millions of U.S. phone records and intercepting some U.S. Internet traffic.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 WASHINGTON (AP) – The Senate Judiciary Committee has unanimously approved the nomination of James Comey (KOH’-mee) to be director of the FBI, clearing the way for a full Senate vote as early as next week. Comey spent 15 years as a federal prosecutor before serving as the No. 2 official in the Justice Department under President George W. Bush. He would succeed Robert Mueller (MUHL’-ur) as FBI director.

He said the water was around his eyes and ears, making it hard to see and hear. NASA is still trying to figure out the source of the leak but the main suspect is the suit’s cooling system.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 LOS ANGELES (AP) – The journal Science says the sampling of the Martian atmosphere by the Curiosity rover confirms it’s mostly made of carbon dioxide with hints of other gases. That’s in line with what the twin Viking landers found more than 30 years ago, and what scientists have gleaned from Martian rock fragments that have fallen to Earth. One thing that surprised scientists was Curiosity’s finding that Mars has about as much argon in its atmosphere as nitrogen.
