Jamestown \u00a0 \u2013\u00a0Valley City State’s Rory Gentzkow<\/a>\u00a0and Hayley Shanks<\/a> recorded Top 10 finishes\u00a0in the Vikings’ season opener at the Jimmie Fall Invite held Sunday and Monday at the Jamestown Country Club.<\/p>\n Gentzkow carded\u00a0a four-over-par 76 on Sunday and was in a tie for fifth place after day one of the tournament. He then fired an even-par 72 on Monday, including four birdies, to move into a runner-up finish with a two-day score of 148.<\/p>\n Shanks was also in a tie for fifth place after the opening round, finishing with\u00a0an 86 on Sunday. She improved her score to an 85 on Monday and finished in sixth place with a two-day total of 171.<\/p>\n The Viking men finished in ninth place as a team with a two-day score of 675. The Vikings shot a 349 on Sunday and a 326 on Monday \u2013 shaving 23 strokes off their team score. Senior Jayden Ewoniuk<\/a> finished in\u00a020th place after carding a 160 (82-78). Ian Jelsing<\/a> finished with a 173 (88-85), and Kase Pike<\/a> finished with a 194 (103-91) to round out the men’s team score.<\/p>\n UJ<\/p>\n University of Jamestown’s top team took first place with a two-day team score of 601 (303-298). Jamestown’s Tate Olson took medalist honors with a four-under-par score of 140 (70-70).<\/p>\n The University of Jamestown women’s golf team finished second at the Jimmie Fall Invite.<\/p>\n JIMMIE FALL INVITE RESULTS<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n The Jimmie Orange team finished a combined 121-over par to finish 38 shots in back of Minot State University.\u00a0 Minot State’s Anya Ross took first with a 15-over 159 (78-81).<\/p>\n The Viking women finished in fifth place after a two-day score of 746 (375-371). Ashley McKittrick<\/a> finished in 18th place with a 185 (92-93) and Jocelyn Braunberger<\/a> placed 21st with a 190 (93-97). Nevaeh Davis<\/a> finished with a 200 (104-96) and Megan Haugrud<\/a> shot a 219 (114-105) to round out the women’s team score.<\/p>\n
