University Saturday afternoon in GPAC action.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial Unicode MS;\">Final Score<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"font-family: Arial Unicode MS;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">: Jamestown 35, Mount Marty 6<br \/>\n<\/span> <strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Records:\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/span><span style=\"font-family: Arial Unicode MS;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">UJ 1-1, 1-0 GPAC;\u00a0 Mount Marty 0-2, 0-2 GPAC<br \/>\n<\/span> <strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Location:\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Rollie Greeno Field at Charlotte &amp; Gordon Hansen Stadium<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial Unicode MS;\">HOW IT HAPPENED<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial Unicode MS;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">First Quarter:\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Jamestown found the end zone on its first two possessions of the game. After forcing the Lancers to go\u00a0three-and-out on the opening drive, the Jimmies took advantage of a five-yard punt and began their drive at the Mount Marty 29-yard line. Eight plays later, <\/span><\/span><a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/roster\/22\/5\/10478\">Cade Torgerson<\/a><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial Unicode MS;\"> (JR\/Billings, Mont.) tossed an eight-yard touchdown pass to <\/span><a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/roster\/22\/5\/10502\">Steve Justice<\/a><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial Unicode MS;\"> (SO\/Henderson, Nev.), and the <\/span><a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/roster\/22\/5\/10554\">Noah Vogelpohl<\/a><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial Unicode MS;\"> (FR\/Dayton, Minn.) extra point made it 7-0. Another Mount Marty three-and-out resulted in a 10-play, 67-yard drive capped off by a two-yard Torgerson touchdown run. Vogelpohl converted the extra point to make it 14-0 with 5:45 in the quarter.\u00a0The Lancers&#8217; final drive of the quarter resulted in a 42-yard missed field goal attempt.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial Unicode MS;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Second Quarter:<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0The UJ defense held Mount Marty to 44 yards of total offense in the second quarter, forcing punts on four drives. After a fast start in the first fifteen minutes, Jamestown had two drives end in a punt and another with a missed field goal. With 2:25 before halftime, <\/span><\/span><a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/roster\/22\/5\/10635\">Chris Sayler<\/a><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial Unicode MS;\"> (SO\/Jamestown, N.D.) plunged in from one yard out with the third Jimmie touchdown of the day. Vogelpohl&#8217;s convert extended the lead to 21-0. A quick three-and-out that took just 1:19 off the clock gave Jamestown another chance to add to their lead. Torgerson connected with <\/span><a title=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/roster\/22\/5\/10515\">Micah Madyun<\/a><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: Arial Unicode MS;\"> (FR\/Ramsey, Minn.) on passes of 27 and 32 yards to put the Jimmies in the red zone. A five-yard scramble by Torgerson took the ball down to the Mount Marty 14, then one play later\u00a0Torgerson connected with Justice on a 14-yard scoring pass with five seconds in the half. Once again Vogelpohol made the extra point to make it 28-0.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial Unicode MS;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Third Quarter:\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Mount Marty found the end zone for the first time in program history on a six-yard William Rauch run. The drive lasted 14 plays and covered 62 yards while chewing 6:45 off the clock. Both teams traded punts to end the third quarter.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Arial Unicode MS;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Fourth Quarter:<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0UJ&#8217;s final scoring drive went 11 plays and 44 yards as Torgerson threw his third touchdown pass of the afternoon, a one-yarder to Madyun. The extra point by Vogelpohl made it 35-6 with 10:42 left in the game.
