Council Member Buchanan as not present, Council Member Scholoegel joined by phone.<\/p>\n<p>Police &amp; Fire Committee:<\/p>\n<p>No new items.<\/p>\n<p>INFORMATIONAL: \u00a0Police department and municipal court general update, training, COVID-19 \u00a0protocols and precautions observed, and implemented.<\/p>\n<p>INFORMATIONAL: \u00a0Fire Department update, inspections, training, COVID-19 protocols and precautions observed, and implemented.<\/p>\n<p>PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE<br \/>\nConsidered was the recommendation on the bid award for the Truck Scale at the City Transfer (Baler) Facility.\u00a0 Both bids received were over the estimate, so the item was moved to the City Council without recommendation, for further consideration.<\/p>\n<p>The committee discussed approval of a Change Order to Basaraba Excavating &amp; Dirtworks, LLC, on the \u00a0construction of 2021 Water Main Improvements District 21-61.\u00a0 Interstate Engineer&#8217;s Travis Dillman said a different process will be used, due to environmental issues, and brought back for more information and consideration.<\/p>\n<p>Considered was approval to enter into an Engineering Agreement with Interstate Engineering, for Wastewater \u00a0Treatment Facility Improvements, with a feasibility study.\u00a0 The committee delayed action pending\u00a0 more information with an agreement with Apex Engineering, until the next Committee meeting.<\/p>\n<p>INFORMATIONAL: City Engineer project updates.<\/p>\n<p>The City Hall roofing project will be going out for bids, for roofing materials and insulation.<\/p>\n<p>With the emergency water main replacement, at the James River. The city is working on\u00a0 getting pricing for some materials.\u00a0 It&#8217;s anticipated the project will be completed before ice forms on the river.<\/p>\n<p>Lift station 11 improvements are proceeding.<\/p>\n<p>Street repairs and chip sealing is about finished for this season\u00a0 .<\/p>\n<p>Water and sewer line replacements are still in progress.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting was shown live on CSi Cable 67 followed by replays.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 \u00a0The Jamestown City Council\u2019s Police &amp; Fire, and Public Works Committees met Thursday evening, at City Hall.
