News Jul 24, 2013) &#8212; Prairie Paws Rescue in Jamestown, is joining animal rescue organizations in obtaining temporaty foster homes for a majority of over 180 dogs taken earlier this month from a puppy mill in Wheatland, North Dakota.<\/p>\n<p>Prairie Paws is receiving nine of the dogs for fostering.<\/p>\n<p>On July 10, 2013, the dogs were taken from the farm of dog breeder Darcy Smith and have been under quarantine at the Casselton Veterinary Service.<\/p>\n<p>The dogs are not available at this time for permanent adoption.<\/p>\n<p>4 Luv of Dog Rescue in Fargo was given temporary custody of the animals, and is fostering 59 of the dogs. News Jul 24, 2013 &#8212; The evening of July 27, 2013, the Zombie Crawl starts with registration at 8-p.m., at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Jamestown. The event will also raise funds for the James River Humane Society, and Prairie Paws Rescue.<\/p>\n<p>Registration is $10.<\/p>\n<p>This year. the majority of the proceeds will go to The James River Humane Society and the balance going to Prairie Paws Rescue.<\/p>\n<p>Next year the plan is to hold another Zombie Crawl with the majority of the proceeds going to Prairie Paws Rescue, and the balance to The James River Humane Society.<\/p>\n<p>The event is similar to a pub crawl held in Fargo.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday\u2019s (Jul 24, 2013) Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Zombie Crawl creators Johnny Jerome and Joel Grant said participants are in \u201czombie\u201d costumes going from bar to bar similar to Runnin\u2019 O\u2019 The Green in Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>T-shirts are available at The Corner Bar, and Leon\u2019s Bridal for $15 with the proceeds also going to The James River Humane Society, and Prairie Paws Rescue.<\/p>\n<p>The Zombie Crawl starts at the registration point, the Knight\u2019s of Columbus Hall, and continues to The Office Bar, then to Shady\u2019s at the Gladstone Inn &amp; Suites, the Wonder Bar and concludes at The Corner Bar.<\/p>\n<p>About $3,000 in prizes for the crawl, have been donated by businesses and organization, who are listed on the back of the T-shirts\u2026. including Twins Tickets, and Mall of America Passes.<\/p>\n<p>A two dollar raffle prize to support the shelter, and Prairie Paws, is for a DLP T.V. (AP) &#8211; State health officials have confirmed the first human case of West Nile in North Dakota. The patient is a female in her 30s who resides in Grant County.\u00a0 Experts say the case is a reminder that people should protect themselves from mosquito bites. Symptoms of West Nile include fever, headache, body aches and rash.In 2012, there were 89 human cases of West Nile virus reported in North Dakota.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Authorities say a construction worker who was buried up to his shoulders in a trench in Fargo is not believed to have suffered serious injuries.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The man was working in a trench 16 feet deep when the incident happened Wednesday morning. Other workers had dug him out by the time emergency officials arrived. He was taken to a hospital to be checked out.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Authorities did not immediately identify the man.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Occupational Safety and Health Administration will be investigating what happened.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>MINOT, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A North Dakota man says he will plead guilty to setting fire to a dwelling he lived in with his girlfriend and the couple&#8217;s child.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ricky Sherven is charged in federal court with arson. The charge carries a maximum penalty of life in prison.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The incident happened March 3 in Parshall. Authorities say Sherven set a roll of toilet paper on fire and set it under the couch in the living room.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The fire caused about $35,000 in damage.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A change of plea hearing has not been set.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A Taco Bell worker in Fargo accused of groping female customers in the restaurant&#8217;s drive-thru has pleaded not guilty to all charges.<\/p>\n<p>Twenty-year-old Austin Brady is charged with misdemeanor sexual assault and felony unlawful entry into a vehicle. He allegedly entered the women&#8217;s vehicles while delivering food, then groped them.<\/p>\n<p>Brady is accused in alleged incidents in March and April. He is still employed at the restaurant.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Almost $1 million will be spent to make sure North Dakota&#8217;s uninsured residents are aware of their options under the new federal health care law. North Dakota has about 74,700 people without insurance. North Dakota isn&#8217;t putting any state money toward the effort.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Funeral services for a South Dakota teenager who went missing in North Dakota and whose body was found in Montana have been set.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The\u00a0 funeral for 18-year-old John Swain will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sioux Falls Christian High School in South Dakota. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the school.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Swain&#8217;s body was found June 26 at a home in Poplar, Mont. Swain had recently moved from Sioux Falls, S.D., to Bismarck, and authorities believe he was lured to a home where he was hit with a hammer before his legs were dismembered.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Two people have been charged in the death.
