News Jul 30, 2013) &#8212; Negotiations between the Jamestown Public School Board and the Jamestown Education Association have stalled.<\/p>\n<p>At Monday evening\u2019s negotiations, the School Board stayed at its final offer at a 4 percent salary increase for both the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 school years.<\/p>\n<p>JEA decreased its salary request to a 4.25 percent increase for the 2013-2014 school year and a 4.5 percent increase for 2014-2015. The School Board held its previous offer of 4 percent both years.<\/p>\n<p>Having made the last two moves in negotiation, JEA representatives asked the School Board to make a move at Monday\u2019s meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Public school board President, Roger Haut said, &#8220;We are at our last best offer.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The School Board will recommend Superintendent Robert Lech seek fact finders.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi &#8211; T.V. News Jul 30, 2013) &#8212; Official have annnounced the ground breaking for the GRE\u2019s ethanol plant, at Dakota Spirit Energy\u2019s Spiritwood Station, will be August 9, 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Project Manager,Rich Garman, says, the general contractors are on board and everything is moving forward.<\/p>\n<p>The ceremonial first shovels of dirt will take place across the road at the DSA location immediately after presentations.<\/p>\n<p>Anticipated speakers include Gov. Jack Dalrymple, Sens. John Hoeven and Heidi Heitkamp, Rep. Kevin Cramer and local officials.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Jul 30, 2013) &#8212; The Jamestown Rural Fire Department was called out just after noon Monday, to hay bales on fire, at Jamestown Livestock.<\/p>\n<p>Eight Bales were on fire, with the apparent cause a torch during repair work on fences.<\/p>\n<p>Five rural fire department trucks and 13 firefighters were on the scene.<\/p>\n<p>No injuries were reported.<\/p>\n<p>The firefighters were on scene for about an hour.<\/p>\n<p>Damage was estimated at $400.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Update<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Jul 26, 2013) &#8212; Jamestown Police report a man was injured Friday about 3-p.m., when his motorcycle collided with a car on Business Loop West.<\/p>\n<p>The motorcyclist, 49 year old Aaron Nogosek, of Buchanan, \u00a0was driving down Mill Hill on Business Loop West in front of Don Wilhelm\u2019s when a vehicle in the center turning lane of Business Loop West turned left in front him.<\/p>\n<p>The car was operated by 75 year old Maren Daniels, of Carrington. Nogosek was taken to Jamestown Regional Medical Center, by Jamestown Area Ambulance Service.<\/p>\n<p>Daniels was cited for failed to yield while making a left turn.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jud, ND (KCSi- T.V. News) &#8212; Authorities report a rollover accident, on July 25, 2013, involving a side-by-side all-terrain vehicle on private property claimed the life of a 31 year old Jud, man.<\/p>\n<p>LaMoure County sheriff, Bob Fernandes says the accident occurred just after noon south of Jud.<\/p>\n<p>The 60-year-old driver received possible head injuries and was transported by air ambulance from the scene.<\/p>\n<p>The names of those involved have not been released.<\/p>\n<p>First responders were from Jud assisted by the Kulm Ambulance.<\/p>\n<p>The North Dakota Highway Patrol investigated the accident.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Jul 29, 2013) &#8212; Home of Economy in Jamestown, expects to open in its new, expanded location about the end of August this year.<\/p>\n<p>The store will occupy the former K-Mart location at the Buffalo Mall.<\/p>\n<p>Wade Pearson, CEO of Home of Economy, says the store will have an outside access in at the present garage door location in addition to the mall entrance.<\/p>\n<p>The store\u2019s present location in Southwest Jamestown will be closed during the move to the new mall space.<\/p>\n<p>The store\u2019s expansion will include full tire service, in the majority of the 84,000 square foot area.<\/p>\n<p>Additional employees will be a part of the new store location, and expanded hours Monday-Friday.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>Valley City, ND (KCSi-T.V. (AP) &#8211; Several North Dakota college presidents have gotten much better job reviews since the departure of the state university system chancellor.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Hamid Shirvani released his evaluations to the presidents after the Board of Higher Education voted in June to buy out his contract over complaints about his management style.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The board later said Shirvani did not follow proper procedure. It placed Shirvani on administrative leave and ordered interim chancellor Larry Skogen to update the evaluations. Six of the presidents approved the original drafts by Shirvani.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Three other presidents who objected to Shirvani&#8217;s assessments got updated reviews that were mostly favorable. The review for North Dakota State University president Dean Bresciani (bruh-SHAW&#8217;-nee) was not immediately available.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem is slated to release a report on North Dakota&#8217;s crime rate.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The report is slated to be issued Tuesday and will provide statistics for a number of crimes, including murder, aggravated assault and rape that occurred in 2012. It includes burglary, car thefts and other types of property crimes.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A 2011 report showed that crime was up in nearly every category except forcible rape.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A collision involving an Amtrak train and a bulldozer in northwestern North Dakota killed the driver of the bulldozer.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Highway Patrol did not immediately identify the 45-year-old Williston man.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Amtrak&#8217;s Empire Builder train was traveling from Seattle to Chicago with 326 passengers and crew when it collided with the bulldozer at a private crossing about 9 miles west of Trenton on Monday evening. No train passengers were hurt. Amtrak says two engineers were treated at a hospital for minor injuries and released.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The patrol says there was significant damage to the lead locomotive of the train. The front wheels of the locomotive came off the tracks. The 13-car train continued on with the aid of two BNSF Railway freight locomotives, after a delay of more than 11 hours.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0\u00a0WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Traffic accidents in Williston fell dramatically in June compared to the same time a year ago. The Williston Herald reports officials in the northwestern North Dakota city have been emphasizing safety on the roads since oil patch traffic began to increase several years ago.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) &#8211; A food pantry in the middle of the North Dakota oil patch was depleted to six cans of peas and four cans of carrots before the shelves were restocked for the weekend.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Salvation Army food shelf in Williston is the city&#8217;s main source for canned goods and nonperishable food items. It serves at least 20 families a week.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The oil boom has quadrupled the amount of people who come to the food pantry for food. The center used to serve about 25 people a week. Now the food bank sees that many people in one day.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Salvation Army officials say they receive regular donations from large grocery stores in town, but they remain in need of donations to keep the shelves stocked.<br \/>\n\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0 FARGO, N.D. (AP) &#8211; Small grains in North Dakota have benefited from cool temperatures. The U.S. Agriculture Department says 93 percent of spring wheat has headed. That&#8217;s just short of the 95 percent average. Officials say the lack of moisture is starting to hurt all crops.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) &#8211; North Dakota Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring has selected six people to a new board that will help promote the state&#8217;s wine industry.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The grape and wine advisory committee will decide on grants for research and advertising. In return, the Astros get minor league outfielder Danry Vasquez and a player to be named.<\/p>\n<p>Tampa Bay has acquired injured reliever Jesse Crain from the Chicago White Sox in an attempt to bolster their bullpen for the AL East stretch run.\u00a0 The 32-year-old right-hander is 2-3 with a 1.15 ERA in 38 appearances.
