News) \u2013 The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports two Jamestown men were injured Thursday, (Aug 1, 2013) about 11:20-a.m., on I-94 near Oriska.<\/p>\n<p>The report says A pickup towing a two axle trailer was traveling from Fargo to Jamestown, operated by 20 year old Logan Trautman of Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>He fell asleep, and the unit entered the median striking a culvert hump. He tried to steer out of the median and over corrected with the unit jack-knifing on top of the west bound roadway.<\/p>\n<p>The vehicle and trailer became disabled, blocking the west bound traffic for about an hour, while the vehicles were removed.<\/p>\n<p>A Bobcat skid steer on the trailer came off, and the trailer tipped onto its side.<\/p>\n<p>Trautman and a passenger 28 year old Zachary Schultz of Jamestown were<\/p>\n<p>transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries and released.<\/p>\n<p>Trautman was seat belted, Schultz was not.<\/p>\n<p>Trautman was cited for Care Required.<\/p>\n<p>The Barnes County Sheriff\u2019s Office assisted the NDHP.<\/p>\n<p>\u3000<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) \u2014 A two vehicle accident was investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol that occurred at the junction of Highway 52 North and the by-pass about 1-p.m., Thursday (Aug 1, 2013). The accident involved a truck pulling a trailer and an SUV<\/p>\n<p>A GMC Yukon Denali driven by 56 year old Randy Lynn of Pingree was southbound at 65-70 miles per hour on the left driving lane. A southbound truck was next to the vehicle on the right lane and slowing to turn west onto the bypass.<\/p>\n<p>A pickup truck driven by 29 year old Raymond Snare of Moorhead, MN was eastbound on the bypass and stopped at the stop intersection of highway 52 a few miles north of Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>Snare noticed the southbound truck slowing to turn west, then began the process of turning north onto highway 52, and drove in front of the southbound SUV and was struck.<\/p>\n<p>Both vehicles came to rest on the crossover and one in the southbound lane. The trailer being pulled by pickup came to rest on its side causing it to loose its load of rebar.<\/p>\n<p>Traffic was routed around the crash for approximately 1.5 hours until the vehicles, trailer and load were removed from the roadway. Lynn and a passenger 28 year old Tyler Lynn were treated and released from Jamestown Regional Medical Center.<\/p>\n<p>Neither Snare or a passnger, 15 year old Kyle Peterson of Wheatland, ND were injured. All were wearing seat belts.<\/p>\n<p>$15,000 damage was reported to the SUV, $12,000 damage reported to the pickup.<\/p>\n<p>Assisting at the scene were the Stutsman County Sheriff\u2019s Office and Jamestown Area Ambulance Service.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>West Fargo \u00a0N.D. (KCSi-T.V. News)\u00a0 \u00a0 \u2013\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The North Dakota Highway Patrol reports,\u00a0a 61 year old\u00a0\u00a0Casselton man died as a result of a\u00a0 crash near West Fargo Thursday morning (Aug 1, 2013) about 5:40 -a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Highway Patrol Sgt. David Wolf says\u00a0a pickup and a car\u00a0 were eastbound to Fargo when the driver of the first vehicle was rear ended by another vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0The Casselton man, identfied as Royce Rodacker driving the pickup that was rear ended by the\u00a0 car ,\u00a0was ejected from his vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0the driver of the car\u00a0 20-year-old\u00a0Nicholas Milbrandt \u00a0from Kindred was transported to Essentia hospital and treated for minor injuries.<\/p>\n<p>The report says \u00a0neither driver was wearing a seat belt.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The crash remains under investigation\u00a0by the Highway Patrol.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Aug 1, 2013) &#8212; Jamestown Police report two people were injured Tuesday (Jul30, 2013) when a car drove into an air-conditioning unit, abour 3:24 p.m. in the parking lot next to Williams-Lisko Funeral Chapel, onFirst Avenue South.<\/p>\n<p>Police say 82 year old Isabelle Copeland, of Crystal, North Dakota was attempting to park her car in a parking space, and applied the gas instead of the brakes.<\/p>\n<p>The vehicle accelerated forward over the curb and struck an air conditioner unit and shrub, with the vehicle stopping when it touched the outside wall of the funeral chapel.<\/p>\n<p>Copeland and her passenger, 59 year old Mary Copeland-Johnson, of Crystal, were wearing seat belts.<\/p>\n<p>Copeland received a cut on her head and was treated at the scene by Jamestown Area Ambulance Service.<\/p>\n<p>Copeland-Johnson also received treatment at the scene and was transported by Jamestown Ambulance to Jamestown Regional Medical Center.<\/p>\n<p>Damage was estimated at $1,800 to the car.<\/p>\n<p>No damage estimate was available for the air-conditioning unit.<\/p>\n<p>No citations were issued.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Jul 17, 2013) \u2013 Jamestown\u2019s Frontier Village hosts the World Fast Draw Association Shootout in Jamestown, August 9, 10, 11.<\/p>\n<p>The Buffalo City Tourism Grant\/Executive Advisory Board, Wednesday approved allocating $5,000 to the Frontier Village to expend to help bring the World Fast Draw Association Shootout to Jamestown.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday\u2019s (Aug 1, 2013) Wayne Byers Show on CSi Cable 2, Frontier Village Manager, Colleen Conley said, Numerous events are planned including a local celebrity event, along with participants from around the country who are in competition with each other with accumulated point totals, from the events.<\/p>\n<p>Single action revolvers are used, with wax bullets or blanks used, in the timed events.<\/p>\n<p>Events will begin August 9th with a local celebrities challenge at 1-p.m..<\/p>\n<p>Competition is on August 10th and 11th with WFDA members may participating<\/p>\n<p>at Frontier Villages Amphitheater.<\/p>\n<p>There is a participation fee, however, there will be free admission.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on the World Fast Draw Association, visit their website<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fastdraw.org\/wfda\/\"><b>here.<\/b><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Buffalo City Tourism has approved supplimenting the $7,000 budget with $5,000 to be paid to the WFDA for $2,970 in prize money and for trophies and the sanction fee.<\/p>\n<p>The event will be evaluated by the number of participants and Village visitors and a random survey, with the information to determine the success of the event, and possible annual WDFA matches in Jamestown in the future.<\/p>\n<p>Co-sponsors of the event also includes the Quality Inn &amp; Suites, Buffalo Inn, and Seekins\u2019 Motel.<\/p>\n<p>Jamestown ND (KCSi-T.V. (AP) &#8211; Authorities have recovered the body of a Fargo man they believe drowned while swimming illegally in a water-filled gravel pit across the border in Minnesota.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The 26-year-old man was with five others at the gravel pit near Felton in Clay County. The friends called authorities after he went under water Thursday night and didn&#8217;t surface.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Rescue crews recovered the body after about an hour and a half of searching. (AP) &#8211; A judge says text messages a Fargo woman exchanged with her best friend moments before she was allegedly killed by her husband will be admissible during the trial.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ronald Rogers Jr. is accused of shooting his wife, Elizabeth Rogers, and staging her death. He has pleaded not guilty to felony murder and willful disturbance of a dead body.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nKrista Rankin testified at an earlier hearing that Elizabeth Rogers texted her and said her husband was breaking and throwing things. Rankin says she texted back and asked if Elizabeth was safe. (AP) &#8211; University of North Dakota summer graduates are getting some words of wisdom from the university&#8217;s out-of-this-world alumnus.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The keynote address during the Friday afternoon summer commencement ceremony will be by astronaut and UND alum Karen Nyberg. She&#8217;s currently orbiting the Earth in the International Space Station, and NASA is delivering her recorded message.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Nyberg is the first UND graduate to go into space, and the 50th woman to do so. She&#8217;s done it twice. The 1994 graduate from Vining, Minn., first traveled to the International Space Station aboard the space shuttle Discovery in 2008. She made her second journey on a Russian Soyuz capsule that blasted off from Kazakhstan in late May. (AP) &#8211; A city in the heart of the North Dakota oil patch has a new brand.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Williston Convention and Visitor&#8217;s Bureau unveiled the &#8220;Boomtown USA&#8221; theme on Thursday. CVB executive director Amy Krueger says the idea is meant to &#8220;boldly embrace&#8221; the city&#8217;s future.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The city has some of its earliest roots as a boomtown, when the fur trading business exploded in 1828.
