Valley City\u00a0\u00a0 (CSi) The City of Fargo, provided Valley City with 15,00 prefilled sand bags in the Valley City Flood fight this spring, as several Valley City residents on Sunday stepped up to distribute the sand bags where required.<\/p>\n

City firefighters also joined in placing sandbags, along with VCSU student athletes.<\/p>\n

Sandbags are also available for Valley City and Barnes County residents.\u00a0 Those needing sandbags should go to the Valley City Fire Hall and be directed from there.<\/p>\n

Fargo Mayor Tim Mahoney said\u00a0 the city had several thousand sandbags filled and ready to share with and transport to Valley City.<\/p>\n

The City asks motorists to not drive on city streets near the river. City Administrator Gwen Crawford pointed out that \u00a0some motorists are hindering city public works crews working on flood walls and building clay dikes.<\/p>\n

On Sunday April 24, the Sheyenne River in Valley City was holding steady at 15.8 feet.\u00a0 The forecast crest for 18.5 feet has now been pushed back to\u00a0 April 30.\u00a0 On April 24, 3,500 cfs of water was being released from Baldhill dam. The Corps plans to release 5,500 cubic feet per second of water out of Baldhill dam on\u00a0 April 30.<\/p>\n

Baldhill dam resource manager Rich Schueneman says projected releases are subject to change based on weather and inflows to Lake Ashtabula.<\/p>\n

Valley City\u00a0\u00a0 (CSi) Those physically fit\u00a0 are needed to place sandbags in areas around Valley City. Those individuals volunteering\u00a0 are being asked to report to<\/strong>\u00a0 Valley City Fire Hall<\/strong>.\u00a0 Volunteers\u00a0 will be guided to specific locations in the city, where prefilled sandbags need to be placed.<\/p>\n
