{"id":247897,"date":"2022-04-27T16:34:06","date_gmt":"2022-04-27T21:34:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=247897"},"modified":"2022-04-27T23:00:33","modified_gmt":"2022-04-28T04:00:33","slug":"valley-city-flood-planningdiscussion-updates-apr-27","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=247897","title":{"rendered":"VC Flood Discussion Updates Apr 27"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-247868\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/VCflood13-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/VCflood13-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/VCflood13-233x175.jpg 233w, https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/VCflood13.jpg 445w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>Valley City\u00a0 (CSi) Valley City&#8217;s Commission led another round of city informational meetings, on Tuesday April 27, 2022.\u00a0\u00a0 Commisioner Magnuson was not present.<\/p>\n<p>Baldhill Dam Resource Manager Rich Schueneman said, on Wednesday,\u00a0 the reservoir level was at 1265.62 feet.<\/p>\n<p>The river level a 3-p.m. was 16.16 feet.\u00a0 The reservorir water input was 3,300cfs, with the discharge at 4,100 cfs.<\/p>\n<p>An inch and a half to 2.5 inches of rainfall is possible this Friday through Sunday, which is a variable figure.\u00a0 The reservoir level is estimated to be\u00a0 1269 to 1270\u00a0 feet with those rainfall amount,\u00a0 A possible dam release of 5,000 to 5,500, cfs would put the river level at 18 feet.<\/p>\n<p>The crest of 18.5 feet is forecast for Tuesday May 3.<\/p>\n<p>He said the levee installation is completed, certified at 20.5 feet.<\/p>\n<p>City Administrator Gwen Crawford said the flood mitigation has been reviewed, with the levees being monitored 24\/7.<\/p>\n<p>Sewage lift stations at this point continue to work well.<\/p>\n<p>The Barnes County\u00a0 Highway Department reported\u00a0 the county continues to monitor the two bridges south of town.\u00a0 Residents have been notified through Everbridge, about potential plans if closing the bridges become necessary at a river level of 17.4 feet.<\/p>\n<p>It was again pointed out not to get on<strong> all<\/strong> the dikes, which presents a dangerous situation.\u00a0 There is a $500 fine for anyone in violation.<\/p>\n<p>The non-emergency flood hotline phone number is 701-890-7848.<\/p>\n<p>The VCSU Shuttle to campus runs from The Osmon Fieldhouse from 7-a.m. to 5-p.m. Monday through Friday.
