{"id":248096,"date":"2022-04-29T16:50:41","date_gmt":"2022-04-29T21:50:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=248096"},"modified":"2022-05-04T08:42:23","modified_gmt":"2022-05-04T13:42:23","slug":"valley-city-fri-apr-29-2022-meeting","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=248096","title":{"rendered":"Valley City Fri., Apr. 29, 2022 Flood Meeting"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Valley City\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 Valley City Commissioners hosted the Friday April 29 flood informational and planning meeting at 4-p.m. at City Hall.\u00a0 All members were present.<\/p>\n<p>Baldhill Dam Resource Manager Rich Schueneman reported that\u00a0 the reservoir level Friday afternoon was at 1265.00 feet.\u00a0 The water inflow is 3060 cfs, the release was 4550 cfs. The river level at 3-p.m. Friday was 16.47 feet.\u00a0 The dam release is still expected to be between 5000 and 5500 cfs with a projected river level of 18 feet, and the projected reservoir level at between 1269-and 1270 feet.<\/p>\n<p>Flood protection has been established at a river level of 20.5 feet.<\/p>\n<p>The river crest is anticipated at 18.5 feet on Monday or Tuesday May 2 &amp; 3.<\/p>\n<p>City Administrator Gwen Crawford said another training session for levee walkers will be Saturday at 11-a.m. at the city fire hall, and will last about 40 minutes.\u00a0 She urges residents to conserve water, so as not to put excess pressure on the city sanitary sewer lift stations.\u00a0 Non essential businesses have also been notified on conserving water usage.<\/p>\n<p>Barnes County Emergency Manager, Sue Lloyd\u00a0 said jams along the river bridge\u00a0 have been cleared.\u00a0 She said the Kathryn Road Bridge will be closed on Saturday about noon.\u00a0 Residents notified by Everbridge.\u00a0 Her phone number is 845- 8510.<\/p>\n<p>The Hotline number is 890-7848 for information, or to make comments, and to answer phones over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>Reminders:<\/p>\n<p>Filled sandbags are available for Barnes County residents from 8am to 6pm or by appointment at the Fire Hall in Valley City until further notice.<\/p>\n<p>All residents are asked to stay off all dikes and levees in Valley City during this flooding event. clay dikes are especially slippery and dangerous when wet from rainfall.<\/p>\n<p>The police department\u00a0 reminds citizens that there is a $500 fine for anyone caught standing or walking on dikes or levees, flood walls, in Valley City.<\/p>\n<article id=\"wpb-content-first\" class=\"entry post-289538 post type-post status-publish format-standard has-post-thumbnail hentry category-news with-thumbnail\">\n<div class=\"article-wrapper\">\u00a0The meeting was shown live on CSi Cable 68 and 10, followed by replays until the next meeting.<\/div>\n<\/article>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Valley City\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 Valley City Commissioners hosted the Friday April 29 flood informational and planning meeting at 4-p.m. at City Hall.\u00a0 All members were present.
