Valley\u00a0 City\u00a0 (CSi)\u00a0 The Valley City Sunday Flood Meeting updates were given on May 1.<\/p>\n

Baldhill Dam Resource Manager Rich Schueneman reported that the reservoir level on Sunday 1265.85 feet and rising.\u00a0 The inflow was 6500 cfs the release was cut by 800 cfs at 3700 cfs which will be maintained. using additional water storage at the reservoir, at 1270 feet.\u00a0 The maximum projected inflow to the reservoir is 8000 cfs.<\/p>\n

The Sheyenne River level on Sunday was 17.94 feet.\u00a0 The River crest was 18.09 feet at 8-a.m. Sunday.\u00a0 Flood protection was built to 20.5 feet.<\/p>\n

City Administrator Gwen Crawford said levee walkers will still be needed through Monday at 8-p.m.\u00a0 Standing water was being caught up on being pumped.\u00a0 The Flood Hotline Number is still being utilized at 890-7848 from 8-a.m. to 6-p.m. and requests for assistance by appointment after hours.<\/p>\n

Barnes County Emergency Manager, Sue Lloyd reported that the City of Dazey declared a flood emergency, on Saturday, adding that pumps have been running to catch up on moving water.\u00a0 Litchville reported a pump going out, with a pump\u00a0 borrowed from Jamestown.\u00a0 Barnes County 21 is closed approximately 2 miles north of the City of Kathryn at the Huss Bridge. Water is over the bridge deck and making travel unsafe. No detour is provided.<\/p>\n

Fire Chief Scott Magnuson reminded residents to stay off the dikes.<\/p>\n

Mayor Carlsrud said there will be no flood report meeting on Monday<\/strong><\/em>, adding that on Tuesday the Finance Committee meeting will be held at 4-p.m. followed by the City Commission meeting at 5-p.m. Tuesday.<\/p>\n

He reminds residents to still conserve water usage.<\/p>\n

\"\"He said when Governor Burgum toured Valley City and observing the flood fight, he said it was the most relaxing effort, carrying out the pre-flood plans.<\/p>\n

Filled sandbags are available for Barnes County residents from 8am to 6pm or by appointment at the Fire Hall in Valley City until further notice.<\/p>\n

All residents are asked to stay off all dikes and levees in Valley City during this flooding event. clay dikes are especially slippery and dangerous when wet from rainfall.<\/p>\n

The police department\u00a0 reminds citizens that there is a $500 fine for anyone caught standing or walking on dikes or levees, flood walls, in Valley City.<\/p>\n
