Box Score<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n Women’s Basketball<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dakota Clash Classic<\/p>\n\n\n\n VCSU 72 Presentation College 60<\/p>\n\n\n\n ABERDEEN, S.D. \u2013 VCSU<\/a> Taryn Dieterle<\/a>‘s season-best 19 points and eight rebounds helped the Valley City State women’s basketball team to a 72-60 victory over Presentation College on Saturday to wrap up the Dakota Clash Classic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Vikings pulled away in the second quarter, finishing the final 5:51 on an 11-2 run to lead Presentation 33-18 at the break. Coming out of the locker room, VCSU led by as much as 20 points on a Dieterle bucket in the third quarter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Saints inched closer in the fourth quarter, closing the gap to just seven points at 66-59 with 28 seconds to go, but VCSU held on with free throws down the stretch to take the victory over the tournament host.<\/p>\n\n\n\n VCSU improves to 5-2 overall while Presentation falls to 0-7 on the season. The Vikings return home on Wednesday, Nov. 23 for a doubleheader against Oak Hills Christian College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Valley City State shot 41 percent on field goals (25-61), 11 percent on 3-pointers (2-18) and 71 percent from the free throw line (20-28). Presentation shot 42 percent from the field (25-60), 12 percent from 3-point range (2-17) and 67 percent on free throws (8-12).<\/p>\n\n\n\n VCSU held a 35-28 rebounding advantage and recorded 12 steals in the game. VCSU also posted 28 bench points Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Vikings had 11 players score in the victory, paced by Dieterle. Ashlyn Diemert<\/a> chipped in 10 points and totaled four rebounds and four steals off the Viking bench. Hailey Roberts<\/a> and Meredith Dumas<\/a> each scored eight points while Allie Critchley<\/a> and Adriana Torres<\/a> each pulled down four rebounds for VCSU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Presentation’s Jessica Harvey led all players with 21 points Saturday. Nek Newell and Kayla Carman each scored 12 and Carman added three steals for the Saints. Emma Ogitchida pulled down a team-best eight rebounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n UP NEXT:<\/strong> VCSU hosts Oak Hills Christian College for a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday, Nov. 23.
