Jamestown (CSi) The Jamestown City Council’s Finance and Legal committee Thursday at City Hall, discussed a resolution for the final approval of Renaissance Zone incentives for property located at 213 1st Avenue North in Downtown Jamestown., where The Full Monte Salon and Spa is located.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Incentives consist of a five-year 100 percent property tax exemption, and a recommendation to the State of North Dakota to grant a five-year 100 percent state income tax exemption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mayor Dwaine Heinrich noted the importance of Renaissance Zone incentives for Jamestown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The motion to recommend final approval was passed unanimously, at the committee meeting, Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Finance and Legal Committee in a 4-0 vote moved with Council Member Dan Buchanan not present to have the City Attorney review and negotiate a control agreement with Stride Development concerning property located on the block west of City Hall formerly occupied by a service station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mayor Dwaine Heinrich said Stride Development asked for an agreement with the city of Jamestown for the property so the company can apply for federal grants and tax credits to build a multi-unit apartment complex.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It includes for-the purchase of condominium units on the top floor. He said it is one of several preliminary steps that need to happen for Stride Development\u2019s project .<\/p>\n\n\n\n
