Brent Sanford says he will resign Jan. 2, citing a desire to return to private sector and focus on his family and career. Gov. Doug Burgum says Sanford \u201chas made a positive impact on North Dakota\u2019s citizens, economy and communities far and wide.\u201d  <\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full is-resized\"><a href=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/MillerTammy.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/MillerTammy.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-265981\" width=\"201\" height=\"266\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>Burgum named Tammy Miller, his chief operating officer, as Sanford&#8217;s replacement<\/strong>.  Miller left her post as CEO of Border States Electric to join Burgum&#8217;s office in 2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 50-year-old Sanford is a Watford City native who had been Mayor before being selected by Burgum to be his running mate in 2016.
