Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Sept 4, 2013) — The Jamestown Rescue Squad was called to a vehicle extracation about 7:50-a.m., Wednesday at 10th Avenue Northeast and 16 1\/2 Street Northeast.<\/p>\n

Jamestown City Fire Chief Jim Reuther said, no other damages outside of the vehicles were reported.<\/p>\n

Eight fire fighters were on the scene until about 8:23 a.m.<\/p>\n

Jamestown Police say, 18 year old Brittany O\u2019Neill, was driving a 2001 Ford pickup south on 10th Avenue approaching the intersection with 16 1\/2 Street.<\/p>\n

A juvenile was driving a 1999 Ford car with two juvenile passengers east on 16 1\/2 Street, also approaching the intersection. The vehicle O\u2019Neill was driving struck the car.<\/p>\n

The police say the fire department used the “Jaws of Life” to remove one of the juvenile passengers out of the car. The driver and a passenger removed from the car were transported to Jamestown Regional Medical Center by Jamestown Area Ambulance Service.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Neill reported an injury but declined treatment.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Neill was cited for failed to yield.<\/p>\n

Police will release the names of the juvenile driver and passengers when the accident report is completed.<\/p>\n

Damage was estimated at $5,000 to the Ford truck and the car was totaled.<\/p>\n

Valley City, ND (KCSi-T.V. News (Sept 4, 2013) — Still no new \u00a0agreement between teachers \u00a0and the Valley City Public School board.<\/p>\n

The Valley City School Board negotiations Advisory Committee and the the Valley City Education Association met Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Differences center around a base salary increase for new teachers, and a salary step increase for teaches who have an advance education degree.<\/p>\n

A sick leave policy and a healthcare plan funding formula benefit are still officially on the table.<\/p>\n

The two parties will meet with their members to adjust any agreement.<\/p>\n

The Negotiations Advisory Committee now has 10 days from September 4th to submit their facts to the state.<\/p>\n

If there is no agreement after a fact finding session, a impasse would be declared.<\/p>\n

Jamestown, ND (Sept 3, 2013) — Interstate Engineering reports, the closure currently in place on 2nd Ave NE from 4th St NE to 5th St NE has been extended to 6th St NE.<\/p>\n

Crews are expected to start work on 3rd Ave SW between 2nd St NW and 1st St W today.<\/p>\n

The scheduled closure on 2nd Ave NE from 2nd St NE to 1st St E has been pushed back to a later date. Project updates at<\/p>\n

Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News) — Jamestown Mayor Katie Andersen says the new 750,000 gallon, $2-million water tower to serve Southwest Jamestown is moving ahead on schedule, and should be on line this fall. She points out that the tower will be painted with a design yet to be chosen next spring.<\/p>\n

The new water tower is to serve areas near the Jamestown Regional Medical Center, Louis L\u2019Amour Elementary School, Buffalo Mall, Walmart and the North Dakota State Hospital.<\/p>\n

An affiliated project brings the force main water lines south and west of the Wal-Mart and Buffalo Mall area.<\/p>\n

The completion date on construction on the water lines is expected by October 15, 2013.<\/p>\n

The water tower should be finished by November 30, 2013 with the tower painted by July 15, 2014.<\/p>\n

The tower construction\u2019s lead contractor is Chicago Bridge and Iron.<\/p>\n

Naastad Brothers of Hatton, North Dakota is installing the water lines.<\/p>\n

Jamestown, ND (KCSi-T.V. News Sept 3, 2013) — The Jamestown City Council\u2019s Public Works Committee this month will further talk about the possible elimination of four traffic stop lights in downtown Jamestown.<\/p>\n

The traffic lights under consideration of removal are on First Avenue, at the intersections of 3rd<\/sup> Street North, 1st<\/sup> Street, 2nd<\/sup> Street south, and 5th<\/sup> Street North.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday\u2019s (Sept 3, 2013) City Matters program on CSi 10 THE REPLAY CHANNEL, Jamestown Mayor Katie Andersen said if those traffic lights are eliminated the parts would be used to repair and service other traffic lights in town.<\/p>\n

She added that the plan would call for the elimination of the traffic lights in phases.<\/p>\n

She said the city would look at concerns of pedestrian traffic safety, any excessive speed on First Avenue the elimination of the traffic lights would cause, and if the action would cause traffic accidents.<\/p>\n

She pointed out that if the traffic lights were taken out, the intersections would be two-way stops with the side street traffic being stopped.<\/p>\n

She noted that the plan will undergo a lengthy study, and public notices would be given before any traffic lights are taken out.<\/p>\n

More decisions could be based on the Land Use and Transportation Plan results.<\/p>\n

FARGO, N.D. (AP) – Fargo police say a convicted sex offender was arrested after posting on Facebook that he’s engaged to a 14-year-old girl.

\n20-year-old Tyler Howard Graening is charged with one count of Class A felony gross sexual imposition, one count of Class C felony failure to register as a sexual offender and one count of corruption of a minor, a Class A misdemeanor.

\n\u00a0
\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Court documents say Graening is a sex offender from Minnesota and a West Fargo police detective began investigating after he failed to register locally.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Twenty-year-old Valentino “Tino” Bagola is on trial on murder charges for the May 2011 slayings of 9-year-old Destiny Shaw-Dubois (DOO’-boyz) and her 6-year-old brother, Travis DuBois Jr., in St. Michael.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Federal prosecutor Chris Myers said during Wednesday’s opening statements that Bagola killed the children after sexually assaulting the girl. Myers says Bagola confessed to the crimes and there’s also scientific and medical evidence.

\n\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Defense attorney Christopher Lancaster told jurors that the father of the children, Travis DuBois Senior, admitted to the crimes and that Bagola’s confession was coerced by the FBI.<\/p>\n

Public Service Commission President Brian Kalk says it could be two months before the group makes a decision. The project also needs federal approval.

(AP) – A former Minot State University football player charged with attempted murder and simple assault after a scuffle with police officers allegedly beat an officer’s head against a post while the officer was unconscious. Jesse Ili is accused of beating two officers Friday after police responded to a report of suspected drug use in a parked vehicle. Four other team members were arrested on drug crimes. Two pleaded guilty on Tuesday. Ili has since been kicked off the team. Ili’s bail has been set at $200,000. He’s due back in court October 11th.<\/p>\n

The proposal comes in the wake of a bill banning homosexual “propaganda” among minors. Authors of the bill have justified it as a measure aimed at protecting children, and not suppressing the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.
