University full-court press in the second half for a 79-72 win over the Bulldogs Saturday afternoon at Harold Newman Arena.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>THE BASICS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Final Score: UJ 79, CUNE 72<br>Records: UJ 13-5, 8-4 GPAC; CUNE 10-7, 8-5 GPAC<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HOW IT HAPPENED<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Bulldogs led by seven after Megan Belt&#8217;s three-pointer made it 14-7 with 4:56 left in the first quarter.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/roster\/23\/2\/12702\">Kia Tower<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/roster\/23\/2\/12701\">Hannah DeMars<\/a> sank three-pointers of their own, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/roster\/23\/2\/12712\">Kate Busek<\/a> added a basket as UJ took a 15-14 lead at the 1:37 mark.<\/li><li>CUNE went back in front after Abby Krieser scored on the next trip down the floor, and the quarter ended 16-15.<\/li><li>Tower and DeMars each had five points to lead Jamestown in the first quarter.<\/li><li>The second quarter featured seven lead changes and one tie, with a Tower three at the 5:03 mark giving UJ a 24-22 lead.<\/li><li>Jamestown outscored the Bulldogs 19-9 to end the half with a 40-31 advantage.<\/li><li>DeMars had 10 points and six rebounds to give her a first half of 15 points and nine rebounds.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/roster\/23\/2\/12707\">Audrey Rodakowski<\/a>&#8216;s first points of the game opened the third quarter and made it 42-31 with 9:34 left.<\/li><li>Concordia responded with an 8-0 run over the next 1:09 to trim the deficit to three, but the Jimmies used a Tower three and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/roster\/23\/2\/12709\">Jailyn Martinson<\/a> basket to go back in front by eight.<\/li><li>Krieser made a pair of free throws to bring the Bulldogs within 47-44 at the 5:56 mark.<\/li><li>An 11-4 run capped off by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/roster\/23\/2\/12717\">Sarah Lenz<\/a>&#8216;s second three-pointer of the game extended the lead to double digits (58-48) with 1:54 to play in the third.<\/li><li>Rodakowski gave the Jimmies their largest lead of the game (13 points) with a basket to make it 72-59 with 1:50 remaining.<\/li><li>Concordia scored eight straight points to get within 72-67, but UJ made their last seven free throws to help put the game away.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>JAMESTOWN GAME NOTES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Jamestown shot 45 percent (27-for-60) from the floor, including 43.3 percent (13-of-30) from three.<\/li><li>DeMars posted her ninth double-double of the season, finishing with 25 points and tied a career high with 17 rebounds.<\/li><li>Tower was also in double figures with 17 points along with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/roster\/23\/2\/13154\">Kate Cordes<\/a> (10).<\/li><li>Tower and Busek each dished out four assists.<\/li><li>Five players had two or more three-pointers, led by DeMars with four.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>CONCORDIA GAME NOTES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Concordia shot 35.8 percent (24-of-67) from the floor, including 40 percent (12-of-30) from three.<\/li><li>Taysha Rushton had 15 points to lead the Bulldogs, followed by Krieser with 14 and Belt with 10.<\/li><li>Sadie Powell grabbed a team-high six rebounds and joined Kendal Brigham with four assists.<\/li><li>Belt was 4-of-6 on three-point attempts<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>UP NEXT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Jimmies are at Doane (Neb.) University 69-64 Saturday afternoon at Harold Newman Arena.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>THE BASICS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Final Score: UJ 69, CUNE 64<\/li><li>-\ufffd\ufffdRecords: UJ 15-3, 7-3 GPAC; CUNE 11-7, 7-5 GPAC<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HOW IT HAPPENED<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A 13-0 run capped off by a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/roster\/23\/1\/12124\">Will Cordes<\/a> three-pointer helped Jamestown take a 16-5 lead with 11:53 in the first half.<\/li><li>The lead grew to as many as 19 points three different times before the half ended 41-24.<\/li><li>UJ shot 54 percent (15-of-28) in the first half while holding the Bulldogs to 33 percent (9-of-27).<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/roster\/23\/1\/12118\">Mason Walters<\/a> scored 11 and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/roster\/23\/1\/12119\">Cole Woodford<\/a> 10 in the first, just three points less than Concordia.<\/li><li>The lead stayed between 11 and 19 points until the Bulldogs began chipping away with 8:20 remaining.<\/li><li>CUNE outscored UJ 20-7 over a stretch of 7:24 to get within 66-62 after Garrett Seagran&#8217;s basket at the 1:20 mark.<\/li><li>Woodford&#8217;s three-pointer with 6:14 to play was Jamestown&#8217;s last field goal until <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/roster\/23\/1\/12158\">Reid Gastner<\/a> scored with 0:25 left. Single goals in the second and third periods ended up being the difference as the Warriors came away with a 3-1 victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>THE BASICS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Final Score: Midland 3, Jamestown 1<\/li><li>Location: Sidner Arena&#8211;Fremont, Neb.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HOW IT HAPPENED<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Ally Rakowski took a Kayla Flanigan pass and beat UJ goalie <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/roster\/23\/51\/12412\">Makenzie Gibson<\/a> to give Midland a 1-0 lead at 5:15 of the first.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/roster\/23\/51\/12393\">Ashton Lee<\/a> netted her second goal of the season to tie the game at 17:19 of the first, with an assist by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/roster\/23\/51\/12408\">Madison Knudson<\/a>.<\/li><li>The assist was the first of the season for Knudson.<\/li><li>While the Jimmies were on the power play, Rakowski and Flanigan paired up again, this time shorthanded, at 13:50 of the second to break the 1-1 tie. Rakowski&#8217;s goal was her 20th of the season.<\/li><li>Callie Maguire rounded out the scoring in the third with a power play goal at 1:30. Keagan Shearer was credited with the assist.<\/li><li>Gibson faced 27 shots over the first two periods, stopping 25.
