University Friday evening. Set scores were 25-19, 25-15, 25-17.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HOW IT HAPPENED<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/johnson_darienne_bgvh\">Darienne Johnson<\/a>&#8216;s kill brought the Jimmies within 8-6 in the first set, then UJ rallied behind the serving of&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/buddenhagen_tenley_afmo\">Tenley Buddenhagen<\/a>.<\/li><li>Buddenhagen was at the line for seven straight points, and Jamestown opened up a 13-8 lead.<\/li><li>The Tigers would get as close as 17-13 before the Jimmies eventually closed out the set.<\/li><li>UJ started the second set on an 8-2 run but Doane scored nine of the next 13 points to get within 12-11.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/zieske_aleah_ffwd\">Aleah Zieske<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/sherman_logan_aipi\">Logan Sherman<\/a>, and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/olson_lexi_btcl\">Lexi Olson<\/a>&nbsp;all had kills to help Jamestown build a 15-11 advantage.<\/li><li>Buddenhagen once again provided a spark at the service line after the Tigers rallied to make it a 17-15 game.<\/li><li>The Jimmies finished the set off by scoring the final eight points, including a pair of aces, to take a 2-0 match lead.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/schiele_rachel_0r0t\">Rachel Schiele<\/a>&nbsp;was at the service line for all eight points that helped turn a 6-4 Doane lead into a 12-6 Jamestown edge.<\/li><li>Back-to-back kills by Olson and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/mueller_ava_i3hp\">Ava Mueller<\/a>&nbsp;put UJ up by seven, and the Tigers got no closer than three points the rest of the way.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>FOR THE JIMMIES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Zieske (11) and Johnson (10) each had double-digit kill totals.<\/li><li>Sherman hit .636 with seven kills and Johnson hit .571 for the match.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/bertsch_lily_4q5i\">Lily Bertsch<\/a>&nbsp;passed out 20 assists and added nine digs.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/holen_ellie_inc1\">Ellie Holen<\/a>&nbsp;led the defense with 19 digs and Olson finished with five total blocks.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>FOR THE TIGERS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Frankie Curren-Graff had seven kills and Taylor Suka added six.<\/li><li>Camdyn Carpenter recorded 15 assists while Sophia Turek and Sophia McKinney both had nine digs.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>UP NEXT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Jamestown (14-5 overall, 7-0 GPAC) hosts Hastings (Neb.) on Saturday at 3:00 p.m.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Jamestown &#8211; The fourteenth-ranked University of Jamestown women&#8217;s volleyball team remained undefeated at Harold Newman Arena with a sweep of Doane (Neb.)
