Set scores were 25-15, 25-17, 23-25, 25-16.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HOW IT HAPPENED<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Jamestown outhit CSM .319 to .049 in the first set.<\/li><li>After the Flames got within 8-7,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/hegerle_grace_z5aj\">Grace Hegerle<\/a>&nbsp;started a run of four straight Jimmie points that made it 12-7 in favor of Jamestown.<\/li><li>UJ closed out the opening set with five of the final six points, including a kill by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/johnson_darienne_bgvh\">Darienne Johnson<\/a>&nbsp;that clinched the win.<\/li><li>The Jimmies hit .429 in set two, with only one error and 16 kills.<\/li><li>A 5-0 run bookended by kills from&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/zieske_aleah_ffwd\">Aleah Zieske<\/a>&nbsp;put Jamestown ahead 16-10.<\/li><li>UJ led by no less than six points the rest of the way, taking the final three for a 2-0 match lead.<\/li><li>With the score tied at 6-6 in the third, the Flames won nine of the next 13 and Jamestown was unable to retake the lead as CSM forced a fourth set.<\/li><li>The Jimmies started the fourth set with an 11-3 lead and never looked back, keeping the Flames behind by at least six for the remainder of the match.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>FOR THE JIMMIES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Zieske led UJ with 15 kills while&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/sherman_logan_aipi\">Logan Sherman<\/a>&nbsp;added 10.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/krieg_charlee_7w3v\">Charlee Krieg<\/a>&nbsp;hit a team-high .364 on 11 attempts.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/bertsch_lily_4q5i\">Lily Bertsch<\/a>&nbsp;passed out 23 assists and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/oswald_paige_u8a8\">Paige Oswald<\/a>&nbsp;18.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/holen_ellie_inc1\">Ellie Holen<\/a>&nbsp;had 32 digs and was joined by Bertsch (16), Hegerle (13), and Zieske (11) in double figures.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/johnson_darienne_bgvh\">Darienne Johnson<\/a>&nbsp;had eight block assists.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>FOR THE FLAMES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Azaria Green (11) and Kamryn Willman (10) combined for 21 of CSM&#8217;s 47 kills.<\/li><li>Lauren Anderson had 24 assists and Rachel Cushing had 24 digs.<\/li><li>Willman had five total blocks.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>UP NEXT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Jamestown (17-7, 10-1 GPAC) plays at Briar Cliff (Iowa) University Friday at 7:30 p.m<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 12th-ranked University of Jamestown women&#8217;s volleyball team defeated No. 9 College of Saint Mary (Neb.) in four sets Saturday evening at Harold Newman Arena.
