Set scores were 25-15, 25-16, 21-25, 25-11<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HOW IT HAPPENED<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>UJ held a slim 15-13 lead in the first set, but rallied after a kill by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/olson_lexi_btcl\">Lexi Olson<\/a>&nbsp;to take six of the next seven points to win the opener. Dordt ended the run to make it 21-15, and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/sherman_logan_aipi\">Logan Sherman<\/a>&nbsp;responded with a kill that began a 4-0 run to finish off the Defenders.<\/li><li>Set two closed out with another multiple-point Jimmie run. With her team ahead 20-16, Olson took a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/oswald_paige_u8a8\">Paige Oswald<\/a>&nbsp;set and put the ball to the floor. That kill sparked five straight UJ points to make it a 2-0 match.<\/li><li>Dordt staged a substantial rally of its own in the third set while trying to avoid the sweep.<\/li><li>A service error gave the Jimmies a 10-8 lead, but the Defenders strung together seven straight and went in front by five.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/johnson_darienne_bgvh\">Darienne Johnson<\/a>&#8216;s kill brought Jamestown as close as 15-14, only to have Dordt take six straight and end the UJ comeback.<\/li><li>In set four, a 9-2 run ended up being the difference as the Jimmies opened up a 14-6 lead.<\/li><li>Once again, UJ finished with a flourish. Eight of the last nine points went the way of the Jimmies, including each of the final seven.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/krieg_charlee_7w3v\">Charlee Krieg<\/a>, Olson,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/hegerle_grace_z5aj\">Grace Hegerle<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/zieske_aleah_ffwd\">Aleah Zieske<\/a>,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/bertsch_lily_4q5i\">Lily Bertsch<\/a>, and Sherman all had kills before Zieske put home the final point.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>FOR THE JIMMIES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Johnson and Sherman both finished with a team-best nine kills. Johnson also hit a team-leading .500 for the match.<\/li><li>Krieg, Olson, and Hegerle all had eight kills.<\/li><li>Bertsch passed out 23 assists and added 10 digs. Oswald was also in double figures with 15 assists.<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/wvball\/2023-24\/bios\/holen_ellie_inc1\">Ellie Holen<\/a>&nbsp;led the defense with 27 digs with Hegerle chipping in with 17.<\/li><li>Johnson had six total blocks.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>FOR THE DEFENDERS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Bryleigh Schweer had eight kills.<\/li><li>Kelly McArthur finished with 10 assists.<\/li><li>Makenna Kooima posted 13 digs<strong>.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>UP NEXT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Jamestown (20-7, 13-1 GPAC) hosts Morningside (Iowa) University Wednesday at 7:30 p.m<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UJ &#8211; University of Jamestown women&#8217;s volleyball team wrapped up its regular-season road schedule with a four-set win over Dordt University Saturday afternoon.
