Jamestown, ND\u2013 Local farmer, Barb Williams, recently directed a $5,000 Bayer Fund America\u2019s Farmers Grow Communities donation to the James River Valley Library System.\u00a0 The library will use the funds to purchase iPads for use in the library and during children\u2019s programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are very thankful to Barb for choosing our library for this generous gift. The library will be able offer more opportunities to children in our community to explore and learn with technology. Young patrons will be able to use the iPads during a library visit to access educational and STEM related apps.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Thursday, January 25th<\/sup>, 2024, the library will hold a program at the Stutsman County Library teaching children ages 9-13 how to create stop motion films using an iPad. For more information or to register for this program, please visit jrvls.org.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since 2010, the America\u2019s Farmers programs have awarded nearly $65 million to nonprofits, aspiring Ag students and public schools across rural America. Farmers are leaders in their communities, which is why America\u2019s Farmers programs rely on them to help identify the worthiest causes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dedicated to making a difference in rural farming communities, the Grow Communities program asks farmers across the country to participate by nominating nonprofit organizations with resources to strengthen their local communities. Last August, farmers entered for the chance to direct a $5,000 Grow Communities donation to a local eligible nonprofit of their choice. Farmers have directed donations to food banks, emergency response organizations, schools, youth agriculture programs and many others that reflect the spirit and support the vibrancy of rural America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
