A walk-off homer gave the Jimmies a 2-1 victory in the opener, then seven balls left the yard in a 20-2 game two triumph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>THE BASICS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>SCORES<\/strong>: Jamestown 2, Northwestern 1; Jamestown 20, Northwestern 2 (7 innings)<\/li><li><strong>LOCATION<\/strong>: Jack Brown Stadium \/ Jamestown, N.D.<\/li><li><strong>RECORDS<\/strong>: Jamestown 21-9 (7-5 GPAC); Northwestern 17-18 (8-8 GPAC)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Jimmies and Red Raiders were deadlocked at 0-0 going into the top of the sixth, but two-out solo home run put Northwestern ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jamestown, held to just one hit through the first six innings, trailed by one as they took their last time at-bat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/bsb\/2023-24\/bios\/nelson_jett_broq\">Jett Nelson<\/a>&nbsp;reached on an error by the right fielder and ended up at second base at the conclusion of the play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/bsb\/2023-24\/bios\/madison_triston_0g5a\">Triston Madison<\/a>&nbsp;blasted a two-run walkoff home run to lift UJ to victory in the seven-inning opening game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/bsb\/2023-24\/bios\/liestman_avery_um8q\">Avery Liestman<\/a>&nbsp;(5-0) pitched all seven innings, giving up one run on six hits. He struck three and walked one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/bsb\/2023-24\/bios\/burke_chase_w6pv\">Chase Burke<\/a>&nbsp;hit the first of seven Jamestown home runs in the nightcap, tying the score at 1-1 in the bottom of the first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>NWC retook the lead with a single run in the second, but the Jimmies countered with three in the bottom of the inning.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/bsb\/2023-24\/bios\/madison_triston_0g5a\">Triston Madison<\/a>&nbsp;hit a solo home run and after&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/bsb\/2023-24\/bios\/roebuck_isaiah_c1v1\">Isaiah Roebuck<\/a>&nbsp;reached on a fielder&#8217;s choice,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/bsb\/2023-24\/bios\/alva_alex_2y5d\">Alex Alva<\/a>&nbsp;left the yard to make it 4-2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UJ tacked on five more in the third, with&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/bsb\/2023-24\/bios\/okamoto_riki_cga0\">Riki Okamoto<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/bsb\/2023-24\/bios\/muizelaar_ryan_46wb\">Ryan Muizelaar<\/a>&nbsp;crossing the plate after&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/bsb\/2023-24\/bios\/nelson_jett_broq\">Jett Nelson<\/a>&nbsp;reached on an error. Madison followed with a single to drive in Nelson, then Alva singled in two more runs with two outs for a 9-2 lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Back-to-back singles by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/bsb\/2023-24\/bios\/brown_hayden_o1z1\">Hayden Brown<\/a>&nbsp;and Nelson in the fourth set the table for Madison, who homered for the second time in the game, putting Jamestown comfortably in front 12-2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two more home runs by the Jimmies in the fifth extended the lead to 15-2. Roebuck led off the inning with his first career home run, then later in the frame&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/bsb\/2023-24\/bios\/singleton_jordan_6pgy\">Jordan Singleton<\/a>&nbsp;connected for a two-run shot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After NWC went down in order in the top of the sixth, UJ reached the 20-run mark with five more in the bottom half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/bsb\/2023-24\/bios\/swennumson_ben_svjc\">Ben Swennumson<\/a>&#8216;s first career homer opened the inning, then a double by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/bsb\/2023-24\/bios\/steele_sy_n5y2\">Sy Steele<\/a>&nbsp;brought in two more runs.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/bsb\/2023-24\/bios\/okamoto_riki_cga0\">Riki Okamoto<\/a>&nbsp;scored on a passed ball with Steele moving up to third, then R.J. Woods brought home Steele on a groundout to first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alva finished with four hits and four RBI. Madison had three hits and drove in five, and Roebuck and Bonneville both had two hits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.jimmiepride.com\/sports\/bsb\/2023-24\/bios\/radkey_ryan_xhaz\">Ryan Radkey<\/a>&nbsp;(3-1), the third of four Jimmie pitchers, got the win with four innings of scoreless relief. He struck out three and allowed four hits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>UP NEXT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UJ&#8217;s home doubleheader against Mount Marty (S.D.) on Sunday has been moved to Monday, and will be played in Yankton, S.D.
