{"id":282113,"date":"2024-05-03T11:41:33","date_gmt":"2024-05-03T16:41:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=282113"},"modified":"2024-05-03T11:41:34","modified_gmt":"2024-05-03T16:41:34","slug":"curry-wins-hammer-throw-for-ndsu-tune-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/csinewsnow.com\/?p=282113","title":{"rendered":"Curry Wins Hammer Throw For NDSU Tune-Up"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>FARGO, N.D. \u2013&nbsp;<\/strong>On a windy and rainy day, throwers from the North Dakota track and field team opened competition at the NDSU Tune-Up on Thursday.&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/fightinghawks.com\/sports\/womens-track-and-field\/roster\/kenna-curry\/12155\">Kenna Curry<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;was the top performer at the meet, winning the hammer throw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Curry won the hammer throw title with a toss of 191-1 (58.25m). Her throw not only won her the title but also broke the meet record of 187-2 (57.05m), which was held by Brea Perron of Minnesota State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Four other Fighting Hawks also placed in the women&#8217;s hammer throw.&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/fightinghawks.com\/sports\/womens-track-and-field\/roster\/eve-goldstein\/12158\">Eve Goldstein<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;finished fourth with a toss of 157-10 (48.11m), followed by&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/fightinghawks.com\/sports\/womens-track-and-field\/roster\/julia-matthews\/12168\">Julia Matthews<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;in sixth (154-9, 47.18m),&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/fightinghawks.com\/sports\/womens-track-and-field\/roster\/kaylynn-red-tomahawk\/12171\">Kaylynn Red Tomahawk<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;placing seventh (145-4, 44.31m) and&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/fightinghawks.com\/sports\/womens-track-and-field\/roster\/bailey-overbo\/12170\">Bailey Overbo<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;taking eighth (142-8, 43.50m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/fightinghawks.com\/sports\/womens-track-and-field\/roster\/jazmin-pullins\/12199\">Jazmin Pullins<\/a><\/dfn>, throwing unattached, was fifth in the hammer throw with a mark of 155-9 (47.49m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/fightinghawks.com\/sports\/mens-track-and-field\/roster\/lucas-schweigert\/12149\">Lucas Schweigert<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;led the UND men and was just outside placing territory in the hammer throw, finishing 10th with a toss of 123-11 (37.78m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/fightinghawks.com\/sports\/womens-track-and-field\/roster\/abby-mcneil\/12169\">Abby McNeil<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;paced NoDak in the javelin and was 13th with a personal-best mark of 101-7 (30.97m). Her PR bettered her previous best of 92-2 (28.09m).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/fightinghawks.com\/sports\/mens-track-and-field\/roster\/carter-byron\/12207\">Carter Byron<\/a><\/dfn>, competing unattached, also placed twice at the meet.
