MARION, IND. \u2013 VCSU junior Kendra Odegard<\/a><\/dfn> earned her second straight All-American honor on Wednesday night, taking sixth place at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships.

Odegard threw 41.84 meters (137 feet, 3 inches) in the women’s javelin competition, placing sixth out of 31 competitors at the national meet. The Top 8 finishers are named All-American. It was Odegard’s second straight All-American honor in javelin, as she took fourth place at nationals last season.

VCSU’s Sadie Hansen<\/a><\/dfn> also competed in the javelin on Wednesday night. Hansen placed 26th<\/sup> at the meet with a throw of 35.83 meters (117 feet, 7 inches). It was Hansen’s first time competing at the national meet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Women’s Javelin Results<\/a>

Odegard entering the meet ranked No. 1 in the nation with her top mark of 46.55 meters from earlier this year. That is still the top throw in the NAIA this season. The champion at the national meet \u2013 Laurel Barber of MidAmerican Nazarene \u2013 had a winning throw of 45.12 meters.

Hansen entered the meet ranked 29th<\/sup> in the nation, improving her positioning by three spots.
