Osmon Fieldhouse \/ Valley City, N.D.<br><strong>RECORDS:&nbsp;<\/strong>Jamestown 13-9 overall, 8-3 NSAA; Valley City State 11-12 overall, 2-9 NSAA<br><strong>HOW IT HAPPENED<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A 9-4 VCSU lead was the largest lead for either team in the first half until a three-pointer by&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/mens-basketball\/roster\/silas-bennion\/17885\">Silas Bennion<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;gave the Jimmies a 35-30 advantage with 1:32 before halftime.<\/li><li>The Vikings answered with a three-pointer of their own but Bennion&#8217;s basket with 9 seconds in the half made it 37-33 at the break.<\/li><li>Walters and&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/mens-basketball\/roster\/jimmy-llinas\/17892\">Jimmy Llinas<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;teamed up for 18 of UJ&#8217;s first 25 second-half points, and it was Walters who gave Jamestown a 10-point lead with a basket at the 7:13 mark.<\/li><li>VCSU got as close as 64-59 with a little less than five minutes remaining, but Walters and&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/mens-basketball\/roster\/will-cordes\/17887\">Will Cordes<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;each made a three-pointer as the lead grew back to 10.<\/li><li>After attempting only three free throws in the first half, Jamestown went to the line 17 times in the second half and made 7 of their final 10 tries.<\/li><li>Bennion (18), Llinas (15), and&nbsp;<dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/mens-basketball\/roster\/owen-hektner\/17890\">Owen Hektner<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;(11) also joined Walters in double figures.<\/li><li><dfn><a href=\"https:\/\/jimmiepride.com\/sports\/mens-basketball\/roster\/carson-woodford\/17900\">Carson Woodford<\/a><\/dfn>&nbsp;had 7 rebounds and Cordes recorded 3 steals.\\<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>UP NEXT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Jamestown travels to Mayville, N.D., on Saturday to face Mayville State University at 5:00 p.m.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>VALLEY CITY, N.D.\u2014Anthony Walters&nbsp;scored a game-high 23 points to lead four Jimmies in double figures as the University of Jamestown men&#8217;s basketball team defeated Valley City State University 75-68 Friday evening at W.E.
